Creative Arts, Inc. — Local services in Crystal Lake

Creative Arts is a non-profit art school for students of all ages, located on grounds of the Dole Mansion in Crystal Lake, Illinois. The Director earned a BA in Creative Writing from Beloit College in Wisconsin and a Masters of Fine Arts from Academy of Arts University in San Francisco. The Director also studied in Japan and Morocco.

Despite these impressive credentials, the school is down-to-earth and has something to offer for budding artists of all ages and skill levels. The curriculum is designed to inspire creativity and diversity. The teaching style is coaching / mentoring.

My son has attended Creative Artistry for the past two years and the director, Amber Larsen, has pulled absolute and utter magic out of his hands. Every time he brings home a project we are completely amazed and bewildered that he could be guided to such amazing artistic heights. This has been such a wonderful enriching experience for my son. His esteem and love of art have been greatly enhance by attending this school.

And I have to mention the awesome summer camps that are also available ! They are complete fun and lots of "work" gets done while the kids have a blast with Miss Amber.

Presenting a 1 Day collage workshop early in the Spring of 2012 was a total delight. Working with Amber the School Director was very inspiring as we bounced ideas off of each other. The School space worked out wonderfully, as we had 10 adults emeresed in build a palette of collage papers. After our lunch break we jumped in full swing to creating some awesome collages. The atomsphere inside the school is a much see asit makes any adult feel like a kid again which easily leads to creative play.
