Cut It Out Scrapbook Supplies — Local services in Crystal Lake

The store itself was wonderful and had so many products, including cricut cutouts. The prices were reasonable for the most part and the store was very well organized. The reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because the woman working there last night (not sure if she is the owner or an employee) seemed to be following me around the entire store. I was there for about an hour looking through every aisle filling up my basket and she would always seem to need to do something near me. Most of the time it just looked like she was moving things around instead of restocking or something like that. When I moved on to the second half of the store she ended up there too, and as I moved down those aisles she would as well. She was nice during my visit and did ask if I needed help, however, it made me feel so uncomfortable. I was the only customer most of the time and not sure if it had to do with my race but that is what it felt like (she looked white and I am biracial with brown skin).

I do hope the owners see this comment- you all have a wonderful store and I would really love to be a returning customer. I spent a good amount of money last night but there were several times I felt like I wanted to leave because she kept following me. The only reason I didn’t is because this is the only store like this in my area. I’m not sure if I want to return because of this experience. This is the only review for a store I have ever left but it has been bothering me and I never speak up when I have these experiences. I wish I would have said something to her then and there but hopefully she or the owners see this and have some type of training. When you follow around people of color it makes us feel angry but also hurt. This store is so cool. If you're looking for items that are hard to find you just may find them here. I did. I love this store! They have things you cannot find anywhere else and the staff is low key, but willing to help when needed. The classes are fun and varied-everything from scrapbook and card projects to cookie decorating. I love to take them. The crops are so much fun they have white tables and super comfy chairs.
