I came here on Monday during my lunch break for the first time, and I immediately knew I would be back! They have a wonderful selection of fabrics and supplies. The staff is so friendly and helpful, as a super beginner it was much needed. They pointed me in the right direction and set me up with everything I would need to start my first quilt! I ended up coming back yesterday because I purchased a sewing machine secondhand and ended up having issues with it. I tried troubleshooting it myself, but also did not want to mess it up further and knew the wonderful ladies at BTS would be able to help! I took my machine in and Dondi set me up with Mom (Jan), and she helped me figure out what was wrong but also told me a few other things that were worrying about my machine that I would not have known on my own (feed dogs being worn out amongst other things). Ultimately, I decided to purchase a beginner machine from BTS (a baby lock Joy) because it did not feel fun to constantly be at war with my secondhand machine PLUS all of the benefits they provide when buying a machine from them! I don’t remember all of the benefits but a driving force was that they offer free classes when you buy a machine from them (i don’t remember how many, but i know it was a lot) and I know I will able to learn how to sew really well with the lovely ladies at BTS teaching me. I have to be honest and say I adore Mom and her love for sewing and her support of me wanting to learn really encourages me to keep learning! I am SO excited to create so many things on my new machine and it’s great knowing I have my sewing Mom to help when...
Read moreWith the closures of Joann's, I found I finally needed to visit local quilting shops to source my fabric. Yes, these small shops cost more than Joann's did, but (1) Joann's is gone and not coming back; (2) BTS has a loyalty program that provides a 15% discount on all regular priced items no minimums when (I believe) $100 has been spent; (3) it is locally owned small business and we need to support them in tough times; (4) staff is highly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about quilting, sewing, machines, needles, threads, and more; (5) every week select fabric is placed on clearance of 40% off for some and end of roll discounts to buy what is left; and (6) the shop has a massive and varied selection of beautiful quality fabrics of all kinds suitable for quilting. They offer well-attended classes. They sell high end and service many sewing machines. The store accepts major credit cards. There is free off-street parking. It is located on US 19 (Suncoast Parkway) just north of the Crystal River Airport. This is my second visit and I will be continuing...
Read moreIt seems this business is only nice to people who pay them money! My friend is a delivery driver for UPS And they ask him to walk in all the way to the back to deliver That's not exactly protocol but he does it to be nice They then turn around and tell him that he needs to wear a mask I don't know if anyone knows a delivery driver or works out in this heat outside but you will die with a mask on, he explained he can walk in briefly and leave it up front instead with their permission he delivers again and ask permission They told him okay And what is his deal with not wearing a mask he said it's very hot They in turn call corporate to try to get him fired! that to me is disgusting And these people don't belong in Crystal River if that's how they conduct a business going after someone's livelihood over a stupid mask! Does nasty unhappy people That's...
