I’ve been so focused on helping people this past year with meeting their weight loss goals, writing up kettlebell workouts, my business then on top of that homeschooling, self education, everyday mom life, I’ll be quiet honest.. started to get pretty overwhelmed. I had no more time for my own home workouts or energy left to finish the day and be a happy person. I needed a change, get away from the house. That’s when I started researching gyms near me that have day care. Despite 3 star yelp reviews on this location I still wanted to go in and take a good look at myself. Im so happy I did. I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about this place.
Folks that left negative reviews about membership- don’t y’all read fine print before signing? Everything is clearly printed. When shopping around for a gym, Always ask about cancellation fines and other fees that go with closing your membership. Most gyms have some type of a fine.
Gym equipment out dated? no, they are not. Golds gym has a great selection on all of their equipment, from fancy to standard to old school machines. You choose what suits you best.
Place is nice and clean, they do a pretty great job with cleanliness.
Staff is friendly and super helpful.
Their kids zone sealed the deal for me. The ladies that run that place are AWESOME! My kiddos love it. They do projects, kids fit, games, music... you name it, they do it! My kids can’t wait to go back every day. (Motivates me to get out of the house even more)
Love Antonio (manager) he goes above and beyond with helping people. Very friendly and a good listener.
John, one of the trainers, is full of knowledge and motivation. Before signing up for golds membership I told myself I won’t get a trainer due to already loosing 50lb (and having massive followers on Instagram for kettlebell workouts with weight loss program, I was pretty much settled in my comfort zone) but then came John who is full of enthusiasm, motivation and knowledge. It was nice to finally get someone who could push me for a change.
While it's true that a personal trainer should have your best interest at heart, they cannot make you go to the gym. They are there to put the wheels in motion, support you, and help you reach your fitness goals. How often you go to the gym and the effort you put into your workouts is entirely up to you. When you sign up, you get a free 1 hr meeting with a trainer. Ask as many questions as possible on how to use some of the machines, what work outs are best to reach your goals, diets ect. They are there to help and guide you.
The most important thing is to try and inspire people so they can be great in whatever they want to do. that’s exactly what staff at golds gym do.
The only changes I would do to this gym is replace all shower heads in the showers. They are painful. Oh and maybe build a pool :D ? Just a thought :)
Other than that, thank you Golds gym for all that y’all do! Love your motivation pictures on the...
Read moreStop searching and starting calling this Gold's Gym home. I am not from the area and have been to a few different gyms and Gold's Gym locations. You won't find anything better.
This Gold's Gym in Culpeper is an absolute gem and it stands up above the rest- you will find no better gym in the area. The people here genuinely care, no matter what your goals are.
Not only has the facility achieved award-winning cleanliness status, but the people who operate this location are above & beyond exceptional. Without writing a long heartfelt review, I will leave what I find most important here:
**Cleanliness: A+ Hats off to the team. And the folks who are always cleaning are supremely kind and friendly. Adore them.
**Equipment: While I don't utilize 99% of the equipment, whatever you're looking for- Chris has ensured they have it and that it's functioning as it should. They even have a small enclosed area for ladies, which I think is just really cool if you have some anxieties about hitting the gym floor.
Childcare: Compared to other locations I've been to, this is where Culpeper Gold's Gym really stands out (aside from the above mentioned) The kid's corner is large and the staff is great, they are quick to address any issues regarding safety. They're patient, adaptable, and like the gym floor- the kid's corner is **CLEAN. I have 3 children and they all enjoy going to the kid's corner, they feel safe- and they like that they can all play different things according to their interests from my 3 year old to my 10 year old. We will really miss our kid's corner family.
Last and certainly not least:
*Group Fitness: There are no words to describe the Culpeper Group Fitness crew and how incredible they are. The are consistent, friendly, and approachable. The classes are A+ because the instructors are knowledgable and obviously enjoy what they do. The group fitness crowd is a smaller family within the gym where goals are supported and competition is zero as everyone has their own goals and moves at their own pace for their *own workout. Of all the things I will miss about this gym, the group fitness will be top of the list. I cannot state enough how incredible these ladies are and how much value they've added to my life by showing up every week.
Chris, congratulations on a long-time-running success. The hard work you've put into your gym is apparent in how great the environment is. I wish you and your team all the best, and many more years of bringing such an excellent value to...
Read moreI started going to the gym was nice. Really nice place. But they were taking payments automatically from my account. Well one month they didnt take the money on the same date. Tried a week and a half after the date when I did not have it in there. I did know. My cell number was changed. The next month I check my account wondering why I had extra the last month that I used. I saw a pending transaction. I got a call and I told the woman that the money was not taken out when it was suppose too and now I have had a death in the family ti deal with. So I helped with the funeral expenses. My account has had the money in it. But for some reason it's not being taken out. I'm really busy with work and have been grieving over the death of my cousin. I got a bill for 244.00 which I planned on calling to get it paid. Now today I get a bill from debt collector saying I owe 1,609.79. Which was sent to me before the 244.00 one is to be paid. It not my fault the money was not taken out when it was suppose to be. Which messed up my account and confused me, cause it's a prepaid card and the transaction says pending. I dont get it cause the money was there. Now it's a mess. I dont have 1,609.79 right now. I'm barely keeping a roof over my family's head right now. Due to circumstances I can not help in the last 3 months. I tried to explain this to one woman and she hung up. So I blocked the number after that due to it was very unprofessional. The gym is a nice gym and I planned on returning after this mess I'm going through right now and I do not have hard feelings towards them. I just wanted them to understand this and when I tried I was hung up on and I was not mean with woman. My phone also blocks out calls that are not on my contacts but sends to voicemail and I have not once had a voicemail from them. So i advise to check your account more often to make sure it's being done right. So nobody has the problem i have. I will work with them on paying the past few months no problem. But I'm confused when i get 2 Bill's and one is 244 and the other is 1,609.79. The times they close alson messed up with my work schedule. I only went for 1 month. Some of the older equipment I liked to use there. I wish I could have...
