I moved to this area from the Dallas/Fort Worth area a little more than a week ago. I stopped by this place at about 5:30 PM today and they close at 7 pm.. I was behind one lady who they took straight back to the chair. By the time they walked back to the front where I was waiting, a Caucasian lady had just walked in behind me. The host began to smile at her and made an effort to wait on her ahead of me before she was stopped in her tracks by my cold stare. She then asked what I needed, and after I told her, she looked down at the book for half a second and said no one could wait on me. Well I believe in signs and took that as I wasn't supposed to be there, so I walked out fast. It honestly felt a little like discrimination because after sitting in my car for a minute, I never saw the lady behind me walk out. I then drove down the street to Shiny Nails. There was a sign on the door stating new ownership and management specials. As I was walking up and about to open the door, the hostess opened the door for me. Long story short, the customer service was awesome and the work was done great, not to mention that the price was very reasonable. They literally treated me like royalty, so I didn't mind over tipping. As I was sitting at the nail dry counter letting my nails dry, the lady even massaged my shoulders and back. It felt wonderful. So the sign I received was right, and I really wasn't supposed to be at Bora Bora because the best service I've ever received was waiting for me right down the street at Shiny Nails. Shiny Nails now has a customer for life, and I'm going to tell all my family and friends how great Shiny Nails are and how bad...

I'm really upset after getting my nails done here. I knew I shouldn't have came after the first time. I came 30 minutes before closing they told me they were closed and no one could help me. Today I finally was able to make it in at a decent time. I had to get my nails done for my birthday party and they are right in front of my neighborhood. Also my regular lady is on vacation so I thought let me just try them since they are right around the corner. First I got my eyebrows and lip waxed and the lady was very rough and seemed like she was in rush also left a lot of hair behind like I didn't even wax my eyebrows? Then got a different lady to do my nails. At first everything was fine. Then she keep throwing my fingers back after she finished each of them and was rough. Ended up cutting me on my pinky didn't even apologize. Then told me to relax in a rude manner. I was honestly so done just wanted to go. Not only that I requested a manicure and massage the whole nine. She said I didn't need that even though that's what I wanted! Then proceed to tell me she will do my cuticles and 10 minutes message. Then as she was about to finish rushing through my nails she said I'll do a 5 minutes massage. I just told her I didn't want it anymore. I hate my nails still paid for them because I didn't want to cause a scene and just wanted to leave! It seemed like I was an inconvenience to them since I walked in. I've never been so frustrated I never try to give anyone bad reviews, but this place...

My first visit went very well. I had a mani pedi. Anna did the pedi (french white tips) and Lily did the shellac mani (color) both at the same time. I had enjoyed this visit because my mani pedi came out great and both lasted a long time. I was delighted. After a few weeks the pedi was still looking great. But it was time for me to come back to redo my shellac mani. This time I sat with Tiffany and used the very same color # as before. Im not sure what happened this visit but she left gaps between the nails and the nail beds (which for some reason was not as noticeable until the next day) and within just a few days my polish started to chip which is not common with a Shellac and did not happen after my initial visit with Lily. So, I came back into the salon and they graciously fixed my nails by redoing them all over again with a completely new nail tech..I did not catch her name. And yes with the same color #. Unfortunately, within a couple of days the same thing happened and the polish started chipping off again. I decided not to go back for a third time to have it fixed. That experience was disappointing. I will revisit and try again because maybe it was the polish but I want the same duo of ladies from my first visit because they did such a great job the first time and it lasted as long as it normally should. I would give it zero star review if I could. I will never come back to this salon. I use to come here all the time when it had a different owner but now the service, prices and work is just the worst. I took my mom, grandma and sister to the salon for Mother's Day and I regret it soo much. From the second I called to make the appointment they hung up and did not call back, the manager had the worst attitude and was confused with everything. The lady that helped me was frustrated from the beginning and did not care about how she was treating me, when she was filing my nail she cut me and did not care she kept going. She took like 2hrs to make my nails and as you can see in the pictures they look like chewed pieces of gum. I always like give good tip but when I was going to pay, I asked the manager to give me a discount for the nails that I was not satisfied with. SHE WAS JUST RUDE AND CHARGED ME FULL PRICE. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON. THE WORST SALON IN HOUSTON.

I went in today and said "if you can do this exact cat eye design I'll do a full set otherwise I'll do a classic manicure". The receptionist checked with the lady and she said yes she could do it. Long story short....she couldn't do it. She had no clue how to do a cat eye. I ended up with a full set I didn't want and those look horrible. The shape, the polish, all of it. On top if that the cuts. Then they didn't want to do the right thing and take care of it. I ended up paying for nails I absolutely hate. I've been coming here with my kid for a long time but sadly this will be my last time going. I have to go have these removed now cause the shape is THAT bad and she cut them so short the only option is a new set.

I would give it zero star review if I could. I will never come back to this salon. I use to come here all the time when it had a different owner but now the service, prices and work is just the worst. I'm sad to be writing this review. On 2 occasions I have paid for nails I hated. They display techniques no one can do there. The first time it was chrome nails, this time cat eye. I went in today and said "if you can do this exact cat eye design I'll do a full set otherwise I'll do a classic manicure". The receptionist checked with the lady and she said yes she could do it.
