Ok soooo
Went yesterday for a pedicure. Got upcharged so much on different things that I ended up paying A LOT more then I wanted to.
As the guy getting me prepared for the pedicure, I asked if I was getting my nails done at the same time. He said yes, Kim (who did my nails) said she would be with me in 5 minutes. She didnt start until he was putting polish on my toes. Side note: she was nice.
As she is doing my nails, I initially wanted an overlay on my nails but she said they were too short, and I really didnt want tips, but I did it. This is where I regret that decision.
So they have a child running around. I don't care because I have kids BUTTT not only is she doing a very very very rushed job, she cut me on the drill multiple times to attend to him or look over at him. He put a coin in the fan and she looked over and cut the hell outta me. And I didnt know how bad it was. Soooo, this morning and all yesterday the cuticle area on my skin and the inside where the nail is on MULTIPLE nails. They BURNNNNN SOOO BAD. They hurt sooo bad. I just washed my hands and they hurt. I can't even do nothing but tear up and put A&D on it. Also they dont use brand new files and things. The file was really dirty that they used on me and the drill heads.
They were friendly. But my nails were rushed and not done with care which resulted in me getting really really hurt. I cant even wash my hands after because it stings amd aches.
When it starts to scab up or have to go to an urgent care, I'll take pictures.
Update: he didn't apologize at all. Just I'll fix your nail today. Obviously im not found that right away if my skin is scratched up and my cuticles burn even when water hits it. 4 nails are cut like that. He said be back in 2 weeks for a free fix. Hopefully my skin will be healed by then.
Yall so I went back and before I did I called in to make sure it was okay. I had to come far anyways which he knows. (Him/Tim/the owner) I get there and for one he acts like he NEVER told me to come back in 2 weeks to have my nails fixed for free. I'm like sir yes we did because I needed time to heal & I told him the urgent care even said it because I had to take ointment antibiotics to avoid an infection since there were open wounds around my cuticle. Also, its on my update from the google review. THIS MAN STARTS YELLING SAYING "I HAVE OWNED A BUISNESS FOR 10 YEARS. "PEOPLE" LIKE YOU TRY TO COME IN 2-3 WEEKS LATER TO GET A FREE SERVICE" & said you people dont pay for fill ... A customer had to tell him to stop yelling and raising his voice because I can still understand and him hear in a normal voice. He told me to pay $35 to get them fixed. And I said No because I had to pay $40 ON TOP OF $5 EXTRA DOLLARS BECAUSE THEY TOLD ME TO PICK A NUMBER (AND THE PAINT DIDNT MATCH THE POWDER) SO THEY CHARGED ME (something out of my control) for everything to be the same color. Then when he does them ... he says "so you dont want them fat like that right" Like we didn't discuss my cuticles were damaged badly, he told me to come in to get them fixed for free... he made me pay 20 and made me show a customer my nails to prove he took his time. Horrible person. Even the client said he likes to give people a hard time. Like sir I am a mom.. I went in for a pedicure and left paying $85 . When I called to come back he hung up on my face and denied my calls because I told him that HE TOLD ME to come back. After my nails were done he called me a couple of hours later asking me to delete my review. And when I said tbh, you yelled at me and called me "you people" I'm good. And hung...
Read moreThe first couple times I went here, I did have a pleasant experience. I was looking for a new salon and was impressed by Tyler’s skill. However, every visit it seemed to get worse and worse. I brought my mom here to do pedicures, and they did a mediocre job. They didn’t do a great job cleaning the polish that got on the skin around my nails. The woman next to me had the same issue, and had an argument with the gentleman doing the service b/c he didn’t think it needed to be cleaned up. In future visits, I noticed that it seemed Tyler was the only one that could do nails. My nails done by other workers were often misshaped and thick. There was a couple times where Tyler had to take over because my nails just didn’t look good. I did have one annoying experience where I wanted half moon design (it’s similar to a french nail except the polish is closer to the cuticle). The woman working with me would just make a straight line across instead of the curved shape despite me showing her the reference photo over and over, and it once again ended in Tyler finishing the job.
The thing that eventually made me look elsewhere was seeing how they would interact with certain clients. One customer complained about her nails, and the woman working with her argued with her. This woman said a couple times that she didn’t care about her job and that she didn’t need to work as she had support from her husband. It ended with the client walking out saying she would talk to Tyler once he’s back as he was on vacation.
Another incident included Tyler working with another client and ended up nicking her with the rotary tool. Things happen, but Tyler’s response to his client’s reaction was a little upsetting. When she jumped back and held her injured hand, Tyler tried to downplay her injury and sounded annoyed that she was in pain, including at one point calling her a baby. Completely unprofessional. You should never talk to your clients that way especially if you’re at fault.
TL:DR, it seems Tyler is the only reliable worker here, but the attitude towards clients is often less than desirable.
One more note, I noticed that the Yelp reviews are a lot worse than Google reviews, most stating grievances similar to my own. I do wonder why there is such...
Read moreFirst , Zero stars was not an option that is why I gave 1 star. On my last visit and I do mean last visit, they were very short handed. I noticed that Jenny polished a lady's toes, then polished her kids toes and then sat in front of me without washing her hands. She also picked up some used tissue off of the floor. I told her that I didn't see her wash her hands. She said "I only polish her toe nail, she not get a pedicure I will put on glove." Mind you now, she also just polished the mom's toe nails without washing her hands and grabbed a dirty tissue. I said you are supposed to wash your hands with soap 1st then put your gloves on, if not you will have unclean hands underneath when remove them to polish Duh?! She said something to her husband in what I think was Chinese. She did wash her hands. I informed her that I no longer wanted a manicure (the pedicure was scary enough). I also noticed that she reuses scrub sponges. My understanding is that sponges should be a one time use tool. I saw her husband laughing and talking while he went from one manicure to another without washing his hands either. Check Please! I'm very leery of their commitment to being sanitary. They spend alot of time talking and asking too many damn questions about you perhaps to distract you from the short cuts they take in being sanitary and safe. Not a professional environment. Ladies pay attention to the actual service you receive not the lip service. Smiling in your face while they could very well be endangering...
