This was a genuinely incredible place to have and experience here in DFW. Tucked away behind Taylor Station, is this interesting concept: donate what you're not using, find what you need or never knew you needed, at an accessible cost. They are jam packed, floor to ceiling and every nook and cranny and drawer with a crafter's paradise of bits and bobs: office/stationery/classroom supplies, painting, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, frames, canvases, metals, glass and mirrors, stickers, greeting cards, beads, fabric and scraps, zippers, buttons, ephemera... and so much more! Since it was the weekend/end of day, they were quite picked through/over. However, we still were able to fill the bag with some things we were in need of and then some.
You are approached when entering, and the staff inform you on how the store works: fill a bag, pay what you can. When you go to check out, they will weigh what you've selected to gather data on how much you/they have helped save from a landfill. Well, as another reviewer has mentioned, you should probably know that it's a suggested donation of at least $20/bag, rather than "pay what you can." There was a bit of an awkward exchange when the staff member gave me a look of disdain when I first mentioned how much I could pay; definitely made me uncomfortable as someone who really doesn't have the means at this moment but deeply appreciated (and, perhaps, misunderstood) the supposed intention of the place. Ended up buckling under the pressure of shame to just donate the $20 I really didn't have. But,...
Read moreI absolutely ADORED this place! as a crafter on a budget that collects hobbies and craft supplies this is my DREAM!!! This is such a good idea. I learned about this place on tiktok and decided to go with my friend on nice sunday afternoon. It is small but it's so charming and i love the little hidden area it's in! It's so cute! We were greeted by a nice girl who told us how it worked that we fill a bag and pay what we want. I was floored. they had a great selection and we spent a good 2 hours in here and only left because it was going to close soon! If you're a journaller/papercrafter/penpaler this place is amazing. i got so much paper and stickers! I also want to start sewing and they had a beautiful selection of fabric! and a lot of it had tags still on it and was remnants from other craft stores! They had tons of yarn and stuff and other jewelry making stuff! They even had resin molds! and they even offer classes for an amazingly affordable price that me and my friend will definitely be taking! The workers/owners were the friendliest and made it a fun experience. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place and feel like this place is pretty much what community is about. I love places like this!. PLEASE go check it out and support this...
Read moreIf youâre trying to find a new art medium, this is the place to go. Even if you actively have one that you love itâs the place to go. The owner of this business is unbelievably kind and will not only let you pay what you want, but help you find what you want too.
They are super active in the community. Wanting to help, wanting to grow, and wanting to be a part of change.
My first time in this store I was greeted with a smile and an explanation of the store. I was allowed to look around and ask questions, and the owner seemed to genuinely take interest in what I was working on. They had these amazing sketchbooks that typically run $40 each, helped me find the certain tools I was wanting, and it was such a great and inspiring experience.
If I was financially able to pay more, I wouldâve. However she was more than happy with the $25 payment I made. Next time Iâm making sure itâs $100 because thatâs what they deserve.
I know itâs a $20 recommended amount however I think everyone should come in wanting to help this store out as much as they are wanting to help us out. I couldnât recommend this store...
