Pleasantly surprised.
I am an avid audiophile, DIY'er, and electronics enthusiast as well as repair audio electronics professionally. I am not the average reviewer. I normally don't pay attention to consumer electronics stores at all, much less these places in airports that look like over-priced flashy non-performing tourist bait. Layover delayed at Dallas Love Field, I went ahead and passed some time perusing Tech On The Go. I own several pairs of supposedly "higher quality" budget over the ear headphones, as I would never spend hundreds on big brand names because I don't normally listen critically through headphones. I brought my current pair of cheap earbuds to use while on my trip to listen to a movie on the plane, etc. In Tech On The Go I thought to myself "Maybe I should treat myself to a pair of noise cancelling headphones". With run of the mill earbuds, the airplane noise usually is so loud you have to turn your phone/tablet/laptop volume up all the way and it's still annoying and hard to hear. I eyeballed a few models of headphones and Googled pricing and to my surprise they were in line with online pricing. I asked the girl behind the counter if they had any demo units as I couldn't see buying something like that at an airport shop assuming I wouldn't be able to conveniently return if I didn't like it or if there was an issue. She pleasantly explained to me that they are a Hudson News store and I could return anywhere there is a Hudson News including my home town airport. I figured that and a non-inflated price meant no excuse to not buy something if I liked it. I picked up a pair of "Marley Positive Vibration 2 Wireless" over the ear headphones because the price was nice and there were good Google reviews. The reviews on the product were correct and I will leave my description of that to my Amazon review on it. As for Tech On The Go....5 stars from someone who would never have expected to be so...
Read moreTech On The Go has very high prices and not good quality. I bought a Mophie Juice Pack which was expensive, it does not hold a charge. Trying to contact them was horrible. There is no phone number listed, had to call the main airport number and they tried to contact me several times however Tech on the Go never answered the phone. I would advise to think twice before purchasing from this store and if you do make sure you have a contact number in case your product is not the quality...
Read moreA 'visiting' clerk from another store was behind counter showing the store clerk something on his phone, the whole time she rang up my items he kept talking and ahowing her whatever it was. At the end of transaction (where I had to ask for total, ask for receipt) she pushes the purchases towards me (no bag offered). I said, "May I have a bag?"...
