This is an outlet, as the title says, with all the pros and cons of it. Prices are surprisingly cheap for many items, but then you don't know what you may find there, so this is not a grocery store you can depend on. "Shop us first", they say, and if you have the time try them. The occasional 50% off your groceries' cost for the exact same brand name product is not a joke, it is a sizeable amount in most budgets. When it comes to fresh produce they are not always cheaper nor better, but the meat department is among the best and cheapest in town. Their inventory is more limited than others', yet certain meat items I will only buy here. A drawback is that many fresh produce items are not bar coded, and in a couple of occasions the price at the register was much different than that on the shelf, just because this was what the cashier thought to be the right price to apply. A special heartwarming thing here, rare nowadays, is that you will always find the same polite and helpful people ready to serve you. They are absolutely worth the trip. Update: The aforementioned pricing issues seem to be the rule rather than the exception, and you will face them not only on the fresh produce, but nearly throughout the store. I suggest you check what you pay before leaving the store. Some items may be charged 60 to 70% more than the shelf price.
Sep 2024 update: They have turned into a treasure hunt store. It seems to me that on everyday grocery items they are only trying to be a dime or so cheaper than Walmart or the "Dollar" stores, yet their inventory is occasional, certain items are overpriced, plus they don't seem to always honor their online "as supplies last" promotions, since supplies may have drained out and new inventory came in, maybe? Fresh produce is not always fresh and at the same time well above the local market prices. Fresh meat I shall now find elsewhere cheaper and better. Having said all those negative things, I still visit regularly, for just one reason: "Occasional inventory" means possibly exceptional quality at rock bottom prices, for a number of everyday or specialty items. And when I find them, I...
Read moreThis place is STUPID cheap!! You have to buy smart. Fresh veggies need to be cooked asap. Meat is cheap- and the quality is mediocre, but way cheaper than mediocre cuts at other grocery stores. Buy a pork tenderloin and portion out and freeze boneless chops for CHEAP!
You learn some stuff is a $1 because it is nasty. Not bad- just tastes bad... other things for $1 are good. It is a low cost gamble.
Nothing is consistently there. Just strike gold if you frequently visit. Recently got super yum frozen otis spunkmyer 34 count cookies for 3$. I bought 5 cases. Stupid cheap REALLY good quality products CAN be found!
If your frugal... it is a awesome place!
My coworker said working there was AWFUL- "because the customers are VERY RUDE"! SO... be nice to the UGO staff because they have A LOT of cheapskate douche bags acting a fool. Thank you for the deals! I...
Read moreI usually love this store. They have great deals. However, today was not their best day the manager of the store (blonde lady, thin, short) spent about an hour talking very loudly near the meat with another employee. They covered all topics from doing meth to her brother's opid addiction. Not the kind of conversation to be having on the sales floor where costumers can hear. All the meat was looking a little rough as well and the meat cart was left out of refrigeration for about an hour while I was there. Our cashier was good though. Quick and friendly. Welp tried again, and this experience was terrible as well. Cashier was rude and pretty awful at bagging. Put frozen with dry boxes. O overloaded the bags. 3 bags broke in the parking lot. Bagged a gallon of milk and a gallon of orange juice in the same bag and didn't double bag. Bagged cans...
