We don’t eat out often due to me worried about cleanliness. It’s been a good 6 months since we have ate out. My mom has been begging me to take her to this place as I have never tried it and was pretty excited. But unfortunately didn’t even get to enjoy a bite. Had to wait 6 hours after that to go home and eat a pb&j as our day was really busy yesterday...my 4 year old as well was STARVING and I WOULD NOT let her eat that food!!! We went through the drive thru, I waited 15 minutes (they did warn me about my tenders I’d be waiting which would be fine). When I got my order I was missing my side of Okra, I proceeded to go inside and let them know about it. While they were making the okra fresh, there was a lady in a #13 braves acuna shirt that was wearing blue gloves and proceeds to reach down in her BOOBS , I’m guessing to hit a vape because her hand went nearby her mouth for a few seconds and then her hands went back in her BOOBS WITHOUT CHANGING GLOVES AND AT THE FOOD PREP area. I did tell the owner, I DID NOT eat my $20 worth of food and it will be brought back when yall open back up so I can get my refund!! (visit date may 9th, 2025 between 4-5pm! I DO HAVE MY PLATES STILL IN THE BAG AND THE FOOD IS COMPLETELY UNTOUCHED. ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT WAIT LONGER THAN 2 seconds for a refund as I was in a rush after having to wait another 7 minutes inside for an order of okra. I’ll see ya...
Read moreSo this barbecue place was interesting to me. As soon as I opened up the box, you just got hit with the smack of smoke flavor more than any of the other ones. The ribs were different than the other ribs I had at the other places as well the smoke flavor hit you from the first bite, which was great. So I think these are my favorite ribs. I eat this week as far as the sides go. The baked beans reminded me of the baked beans I had as a child, the better, so I love the flavor of them if you don’t know, but they were my favorite from the other places I went to. The coleslaw, the the regular one was the best law I had in town. The hot coleslaw which I’ve never had before and never seen was hands-down, my favorite I have never had a coleslaw like that in my life. I loved it and I love the heat. This is also my second time having Brunswick stew it was different than the first Brunswick stew I had were this was more of a stew. The other one was a little bit more of a soup. This one was awesome though I liked it. The only thing I didn’t like was the pulled pork for two reasons. One it was already sauced I’m more of a dry pulled pork, 2. I like when you get the pieces of pulled pork that have the rub on it like bark I couldn’t taste any of the rub, but it was still solid pulled pork just not my favorite the staff here was amazing though they hooked me up and I will be back next time....
Read moreWorst barbecue in Dalton. The only reason this place can stay in business is because most people in Dalton don't know good barbecue. I'm from Texas where we do BBQ right. Slow smoked brisket, hand made sausages, sliced pork, tender beef ribs, pork chops, baby back ribs and slow roasted chicken. John's sticks with the pathetic formula of "pulled pork" which turns the meat into either a greasy ball of shredded bland meat or shredded dried out meat that demands you to put sauce on it so you can at least ingest it. Truly good BBQ doesn't require sauce, the flavor should only be enhanced because of it. Genuinely, in all of the years of my life and in all of the states I've lived in, I've never had so called "pulled pork" live up to anything remotely close to any of the other options listed above. If places plan to continue to use pork, then at least offer it sliced or chopped as well. Then you genuinely have something to chew and have meat that can retain moisture and hopefully flavor but then again, that would require more work, talent and skill not to mention passion for creating something special instead of this garbage that just is hardly the bare minimum to be...
