Staff was friendly until you try to box up your leftover food (steak plate, not from the buffet). The “complimentary” potato apparently is not “complimentary” and you are not allowed to take it in your to-go box. Upon trying to leave the restaurant with the potato which came with my meal, staff followed and berated me over the “complimentary” potato and threatened to call the police for having taken it, even though the main waitress of our table told us we could take it in our box. One lady, who was described as the “manager,” by one other staff member, even put her hands on one of the members of my party in order to inform us that we would have the police called on us for trying to leave with the potato. I went back inside to discuss the matter further with staff and upon asking for the written policy showing where one could not take the “complimentary” potato with them as part of their leftovers, they failed to produce it repeatedly. Staff was extremely rude about the entire affair and so I must say the customer service here is extremely unprofessional. Would not recommend anyone trying to leave this establishment with their potato unless they want the police called on them.
In response to your reply, again I am reiterating that the potato was not taken from the buffet. It was not a buffet meal I had. I ordered a steak plate from the counter and the potato came with it. Being threatened with the police for trying to take a “complimentary” potato with my leftover steak was ridiculous. It says nowhere on the sign that the potato is not to be taken with leftovers. You failed to provide any written policy about what you’ve stated when asked for it multiple times in the restaurant. Regardless, it definitely doesn’t warrant having a member of your staff lay their hands on a patron in order to address the issue in the parking lot. Be glad charges weren’t pressed...
Read moreWhat are you guys doing? I'm from out of town and my family raved about how great this place was I had high hopes. I'm hoping you're actually talking the time to read this and not see it as another review telling you how bad it was. When we first walked in it was so beautiful and I was super excited. The hostess that took our order acted as though she had better things to be doing then to do her job. OK, one fluke, I'll accept it. After strolling the salad bar I was blown away by the amount of options and so excited. The freshness of items told me they needed to be rotated and held to a lower temp longer. Many years of corporate restaurant management experience and that was the easy thing to tell. When I moved to the actual food part I realized that while everything looked good, hardly anything was fresh. You, as a restaurant will spend more money in product and labor by going with frozen pre made items to serve vs making things fresh. This was highly disappointing. Invest a little more. I believe I walked by a manager a few times that wasn't acknowledging any of their guests. But I guess that would be the difference between you and me, I'm not a customer at your establishment. I'm a guest. Would you serve those items to GUESTS in your home, or would you be proud of the made in house from scratch items? Stop settling for sub par, give a damn about your employees, so they give a damn about your guest. Your overall ROI will be better and you may see that you'll be more successful. Word of mouth spreads fast. I'll try again in September on my next visit. Please make some quick changes otherwise, like I've seen other places, your doors will close. It's so heart breaking to tell your staff they are losing their jobs after they invest time in a place. Please pay attention. Quality is food and service is a must, you're...
Read moreNote: This would be a five star review if not for poor service. The Yellowstone was once Western Sizzling. The buffet, the atmosphere and layout is basically the same. The food is just as good or better than I remember. Our family enjoys the rare evening out together to eat as we don't live in the same city. Today, we treated some family members to Yellowstone. Again, the facility was great, the food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. However, I say this as someone who has been wait-staff, we had the worst waitress EVER. I normally like a chatty, friendly wait-person, but this waitress had a 25 minute conversation with the table in front of us. She complained about how her tips used to be $1200 a week and now she only brought in $200 if she was lucky and then went on about how she couldn't wait for Trump to get back in office so her tips would improve...then we heard about conspiracy theories and which people were responsible for his attempted assassination. I don't care who the young lady is campaigning for- I just wanted my drink refilled. I TWICE had to ask her to move out of the way (she's still engrossed in deep conversation while blocking the path to/from the buffet) so myself/my family members could get to/from the food we'd paid for. She didn't fill our glasses until after her conversation pals had left the restaurant, couldn't be bothered with questions, and complained about how she wasn't pulling in the tips she felt she deserved. I don't want to hear about all that while I'm trying to have a family dinner. I know everyone has problems & they want to relieve some stress. It's WHY some of us go out for dinner with family as a rare treat. Ours was less than ideal. So, here's your tip from hard won experience: You'll get MORE tips if you actually...
