These guys are the bomb! Talk about amazing, old school customer service and quality - Riverside Butcher is seriously firing on all cylinders. They’re my go-to gift for my elderly parents living in Damariscotta. They don’t need more stuff and would just re-gift it anyways - so I send edible presents to fill their bellies.

It’s so easy to call and get a treasured, appreciated gift taken care of. My folks are always giddy when I surprise them with a gift certificate and meat deliciousness. This time around I sent my dad’s favorite - he loves a thick center cut pork chop. He’s a young 90 this July but he still loves to cook! When he eats pork chops, he calls me to say, “ I’m having porker after porker” because he can’t stop eating it!! He just called me laughing and excited when he received his Father’s Day delivery! We have lived year-round in the Damariscotta area for several years and were excited to learn of the opening of Riverside Butcher. We have now tried virtually every cut and type of meat (e.g. beef, pork, lamb, chicken) they sell – all of it from local farms. The quality and flavor are unmatched and the service is truly exceptional. We have tried similar products from other establishments in central Maine, the mid-coast area and Portland. None of them comes close to the quality provided by August and Ryan. Even if you live, say, 2 hours from Damariscotta, it is worth the drive. In addition to their incredible meat selection, they have a nice sample of wines and craft beers. That said, it is the quality of their meats and the incredible service that make Riverside Butcher a weekly destination for us. There is NO better place...

We were visiting Damariscotta and stopped into Riverside Butcher Co. We purchased some fresh duck breast to make the next night. It was amazing! We usually have had it frozen but this was fresh and delicious. We seared it and served it with a blueberry port reduction sauce. Yummy! Wish we were in town for more days because everything at Riverside Butcher Co....
