Housatonic Habitat for Humanity ReStore — Local services in Danbury

Would not recommend this store to anyone. The “manager” is rude and has no clue what she’s doing. I drove over an hour after speaking with her on the phone to get here and find out the entire kitchen cabinet set I was willing to pay cash for was sold a few minutes before I arrived. Now she wants me to wait over 2 hours to possibly get another kitchen set that she has no details and dimensions on. After proceeding to talk down and berate me for being upset she went to her colleagues within earshot of me to talk about me and how I am the problem. All I did was simply come in looking to purchase over $1000 of cabinets and this is how I get treated. DONT COME HERE

I waited for at least two hours. So I figured I would update this review. Them to come back with us Kitchen set. They said they had they came up to me. Were mad that I wrote a review but told me that the kitchen set was no longer going to be brought to the location. So the hour drive back-and-forth +2 hours of waiting in the store for absolutely nothing to show for it....

Great store, however I have had perfectly good donations rejected. Most recently I had two wicker chairs “passed on” because there were only two of them, and they said they needed a set of 4... I ended up taking them to goodwill and they immediately accepted the chairs without question. They were in mint condition. I understand there is an email address to verify whether certain items will or will not be accepted before you bring them there- but I thought these chairs were above reproach.

Update: thank you for the prompt reply and explanation, when you have a chance if the website can be updated to reflect this criteria that...

Great organization providing a needed service to the community. I donated a few new and in good condition items. This location is not as large as some of their other locations so please check online what items they sell or what types of donations are acceptable. For instance, this location does not have any electronics. I was amazed at how many items were brand new and how cheaply they were selling them for. They have entire sets of matching kitchen cabinets in different styles. Contributions are accepted in the back and the staff will happily help you...
