EDIT! after my husband, myself and my special needs son attending for well over a year this one day they told me my son was a liability and could not go upstairs or allowed there. Nothing changed in a year, he hadn't fallen or had any behavior issues They said because of his condition. Sorry, why don't you tell me what his "condition" is, than we can discuss how you are qualified to make your announcement. They deleted my account and didn't say a word to me and only after I left the review. A person entered false information stating he was the one that was there that day but we talked to a woman and have no idea who this person is. I did a Google and found out we aren't the only ones. It is pretty, wide variety of activities but not enough machines. We are always always waiting in the am. Very muggy. I can't wear my glasses they fog over before I even start working out. Same with phone I use to track steps. Free weights have bents bars we have asked about several times and online. We actually have started another gym, Perfect Body. Not the wide variety of stuff but still have classes, racketball which we love, and never ever waiting they have tons of machines. It's not pretty, a true gym but think we are gonna switch. It's even a little more expensive but if you can't work out at the Y than it isnt more expensive. I had to ask a guy that fell asleep if I could use the last machine i needed in my workout, waiting for 10 minutes. Many times we leave with out getting our full workout because of the wait. I was speaking with a man at a different gym, said he does advertising, including for the YMCA and was told by them they don't need any more members. I actually can believe that by the wait to work out and treatment of current clients. We went to Olanet Fitness,...
Read moreYou will not get your money’s worth out if this program. Unfortunately, Danville has limited swimming options. There is no swim curriculum-it appears as if the instructors have no training. Your kids get max 10 minutes of swim time because they only work with them 1:1–and they just sit and wait the rest of the time. It’s chaotic as the kids are all so bored and unsupervised. They have multiple (4-5) other lifeguards/instructors on duty at that time and the pool is closed, but usually just one teaches and the others just sit around and chat—they do not talk to the kids or help. We paid for private lessons but it took them 8 weeks to set them up and the girl cancelled and changed the time a lot. The childcare doesn’t involve any physical activity—it’s just focused on homework. The facility is dirty—they never clean behind or above any of the equipment-it’s covered in dust and spider webs. They would not do our orientation or free physical training that is offered...
Read moreI’ve had my Y membership for years. Also had a membership as a child through my family for years. Is there any particular reason why I have been to this YMCA multiple times since I moved to town, and even asked if I needed to switch my membership over to them, they said no, and I’ve been Coming every day since I moved. Until today. Can anyone answer as to why for the first time and over a 10 year plus membership to the Y I need to present my ID? Yes I was looking very homely today, my heat went out last night and my water went out and it’s 13°. I wanted to shower. So why was I turned down? Membership is good, I was there yesterday with no issues. Why was I not allowed to...
