I was brought in by ambulance with severe vertigo and dropped off in the emergency. I heard the ambulance tech explain to the triage person what was going on, when he finally came to get me, he instructed me to get up and walk to the triage, I told him I couldn't walk due to the severity of the vertigo. So, while he was pushing me through the door, he bumped me rather hard into the door jam. After completing triage process he rolled me back to the room at what felt like 50 mph. I asked him twice when I arrived in my room did he know what vertigo was, he finally replied " of course I do I'm a nurse", well apparently he didn't since he showed no commission in transmitting me that fast causing me further dizziness. Doctors were all professional, after all tests were completed I requested water several times, I was told someone will be with u shortly. After a couple hours passed I was finally brought medication with a cup of water. At a later time I told the Dr. I needed to go to the restroom, he said he'd let someone know, again no response. About ten minutes later I called the nurses station, said they'd be there, about another 10 minutes went by and I just unhooked everything myself before I peed on myself. Also very dizzy the whole time while walking. The nurse at the nurses station was joking and laughing with someone as I made a comment as I passed, expressing my concern. A bell had a been going off in my room for at least 20 minutes which could loudly be heard from the nurses station. I turned it off myself. This use to be the only hospital I would go to, after this experience of unprofessionalism and lack of concern, I will go elsewhere in the future. They also After several tests could not even diagnose the cause of my issue. It's been 2 days later and I'm still experiencing the vertigo. I will go elsewhere to get proper treatment. My visit was on 2/22/21 around 11-11:30 when I arrived. The level of bedside manner...
Read moreThings started off a bit rocky when entering the emergency room at Grandview hospital,, and the EMT squad was trying to get me checked in the lady at the desk for whatever reason thought it was a laughing matter and took her sweet precious time wanting to assign a room for the EMTs to take me. As another squad came in with a person complaining of chest pain, she decided to make them do rock paper scissors for the one available room at that time until her superior came in stated well, whoever was here first gets the room we don’t have time to play around, I took that personally as it was not a good experience for me, especially being Christmas Day and being as ill as I am, but once I was placed in the rooms, I got a wonderful nurse I did not get his name but he was so kind and patient he talked to me the entire time he talked me through my pain. He explain to me everything that was happening. He was gentle when he was giving me my IV. I told him I was a hard stick and he knew at that point he needed the IV vein finding machine so he would not hurt me. I am so appreciative for that. He listen to me when I told him my pain level was at an all time high. He monitor my blood pressure being so high and he spoke with the doctor several times regarding how was feeling , he checked in on me as often as he could and the doctor stuck his head in just as much. I am so very grateful that they were there to care for me as I have Covid for the third time and the treatment was outstanding it was on point I haven’t been to Grandview in so many years and despite what people say they really showed how much the patient’s health concerns meant to them. I think God for the staff that is passionate about their job and no matter what day and time it is in the world they put they care for the patient first great...
Read morePicture this. You're rear ended. You get your child checked out and finally get yourself to the ER. (Grandview Hospital) To wait. And wait. And wait. Finally triaged on the other side of the glass where EVERY patient checks in. No privacy. Not sound proof. Not even cleaned between patients. There were no sanitizing wipes or sprays in the space. Trust me, i looked and asked. Yes, it's just a chair and a bp cuff but people are gross. Looks like progress, right? Yeah...no. Back to the waiting room to wait totaling 2-3 hours. You get to a room. (HUZZAH!)...With NO BED. (AHHHH!) In pain. Back and neck is spasming because your Advil is wearing off. To wait 30 mins annnd it's just registration. But she's cute. And 1.5 hrs later, Finally a licensed person comes in and goes back out. Fast forward, EVENTUALLY a doc comes in...labs, scans, still in pain, no offer of meds. Wait some MORE. My Chart tells me before the news BEFORE the doc comes back. Another hour and finally an explanation. A terrible one. And NO meds. Not even the offer for a cup of water to take my own. There was a sink but a previous patient puked in it. House keeping never came to clean it. The water didn't even work for me to rinse it down. Before checkout, an actual decent RN (Sung. He was cute too) asked if I needed anything. Lidocaine patched me, toradol shot got ordered and he was back in 2 mins with discharge papers. Total visit, 9 hours. Total treatment, maybe 10...
