I was very pleased with the service I received from Mr. Appliance this past week from both the efficient scheduler to the technician who did the work. Dakota, the professional technician, was prompt, friendly and very competent in diagnosing the problem with my spare refrigerator in the basement that was not cooling or freezing properly. He was able to diagnose the problem very quickly and informed me that the cost of the parts alone without any labor {estimated to be 3 to 4 hours} would be more than the cost of replacing it with a new one as it was 15 years old. Dakota's recommendation to replace it rather than fix it was not difficult to make because I had full confidence in his expertise and diagnosis of the problem. After all, he could have just went ahead and quoted me a price to fix it when it was not the right thing to do because it would have cost more than a new one and I would have been stuck with an old refrigerator prone to more problems such as a compressor down the road. He also installed a new water filter in my kitchen refrigerator as long as he was here rather than coming back sometime later.

Read moreHunter, the tech that came out was awesome. He was knowledgeable, decisive, and listened to what I had done to solve my issue so far. He adapted his diagnostic to check for a different problem after agreeing with what I solved already. He replaced the part quickly and it was back in working order.
Scheduling, not as awesome. They got to my house several days sooner then requested which was nice but the dispatcher said my tech would be at my home for 2pm or shortly after. I left work early to ensure I was there for 2pm but my tech got to my home at 3:15. I know it's tough to estimate the time it takes for each job prior to mine but it would have been nicer to keep me in the loop. I could have stayed at work and hour longer had they checked in with the tech to know when he'd be moving on. They do send a picture and name of the tech before they arrive which is comforting so you're secure in knowing who's coming to your house.
The pricing was fine, expect a couple hundred at least. Could I have fixed it myself, probably after seeing what they did. However I didn't know how to diagnosis this issue or fix it so I paid for Hunter's great knowledge base and the part he replaced.

Read moreMr Appliance wasn't a bad experience it just wasn't a great experience. It took a month to get my dishwasher repaired. After the problem was diagnosed and we needed a second appt. They never called me back. I called after a week and was told they had set up an appt but never called me. My repair man was nice and courteous and did fix the dishwasher. But it left me with an impersonal feeling. Bigger companies are like that. I am used to my local Maytag repair person. But sadly they don't work on Bosch machines. He had took the door apart and when put back together it had a LOUD clunking sound when opening it. I had to make him aware of this. He did promptly fix it but he should had known that. The door clunk was never the original problem but an after effect. He did politely fix it. It was just a 'meh' experience. I like my small business...
