I've been here before multiple times and always had a good experience. Came here tonight for a Friday fish fry for my BIRTHDAY and had a horrible experience. We ordered the walleye and two kids meals. The skin on the walleye was slimey and gross. The waitress came over and asked how everything was and I told her. You could tell she felt bad and came back and had them knock 25% off the price of the fish. Well prior to her coming back, my daughter found a piece of hair in her kids meal so when the waitress came back I informed her. Again, you could tell she felt bad and kept apologizing. I told her it was OK and I was ok paying for the fish (at the discounted price already on my receipt) but didn't want to pay anything for the kids meal. She left and came back with a new receipt. The kids meal was taken off but now the fish was back to full price. Instead of causing a scene and making the waitress feel worse, I paid and left and called the manager after leaving in hopes of resolving this. She then informed me that she could give me a free kids meal which are $6 but the fish I was charged for was almost $20. I then asked if they had any fish without skin and she said the pollock didn't have skin. The pollock was cheaper than the walleye anyways so I asked of I could just have a free pollock dinner and she said yes. We got off the phone. 5 minutes later the manager CALLED ME BACK and informed me that she talked to the server who said I apparently asked to pay full price die my fish after it was already discounted so all they would be able to give me was a free kids meal. For one, why was I never offered a replacement meal from the start, for two why would I ask to pay full price for something I ate nothing of and for three, I'm an adult, why is a kids meal being offered in place of the meal I ordered. Honestly just kind of blown away by the...

I’m going to address the service that we had at this establishment, because unfortunately that is what stuck out the most.

We were a table of 7 celebrating a friend’s birthday. The server right off the bat seemed annoyed to have to serve our table. She immediately asked who was paying and wanted it to all be on one bill despite it being requested to be separated multiple times.

I am currently on a carnivore diet and ordered the bacon cheeseburger and requested no bun or vegetables. I also requested the fries be placed on a separate plate for others to have if wanted. The server said ‘oh you’re going to be a real treat’. I was actually floored by that comment due to working in the service industry for years.

When my meal came out, it was two very small over cooked hamburger patties and bacon, no cheese. When the cheese issue was brought up, the server said she would bring out a slice, yet never did.

Everyone’s order had some sort of mistake which had to be corrected.

It was almost shocking how horrible the service was. We had just been to the restaurant the weekend before with a group of 6 (which bills were allowed to be separated) and had a completely different experience, as far as service goes.

When it comes to their burgers, their patties are extremely small and most of the time anything bacon related, the bacon is always burned (we have been here several times prior to doing reviews).

Last week a friend ordered the macaroni of the month which was a green chili pulled pork. He said it was delicious, but needed a crunchy element to really complete the dish.

Unfortunately I do not see a reason to return to this restaurant anymore. We have tried so many times, and it is a...

We were excited to try out Brickhouse before it even opened, but finally made it in tonight. Upon arrival, the hostess wasn't standing up at the front stand, so we waited for her to come back. While she saw we were waiting, she slowly slumped over to us on her own schedule. Once seated, we ordered the poutine for an appetizer (french fries with beef gravy & cheese curds), and my husband had the Perky Porter and I had a bloody mary. The bloody mary had an odd taste to it that I couldn't quite figure out - maybe too much Worcestershire? It was also very chunky - I can't say I've had a chunky bloody mary before (and I'm not talking about celery salt/spices). I could see lemon seeds, but there was something else going on in there that was unappetizing. The poutine gravy had an overly flour-y texture to it. It was bland and not especially hot. For my meal, I had the Brickhouse burger (which you might reasonably assume would be delicious since it's the restaurant's namesake - you would be wrong.) The burger was overdone and lacking in flavor. The pretzel roll was also kind of blah - it didn't taste fresh at all and didn't really add to the burger. My husband had the burger of the month - rueben - and he said it was alright. When you pay $50 for a meal, there's a certain expectation level that the food will taste good. It might not be gourmet, but it will leave you feeling satisfied. This meal made us regret wasting the carbs/calories/fat/money. Don't waste your time here, you're much better off going to Titletown (AMAZING poutine) or even...

We hosted our baby shower in the upstairs event space at Brickhouse, and everything was perfect. The space: It's a beautiful space with exposed brick and lots of windows, as well as a private bar. It far exceeds the banquet-hall-feel spaces in the area. The tables were already set up when we arrived for a food buffet, gift table, desserts, and seated dining, complete with tablecloths. We were able to bring in a speaker to play our own music, too. We had a group of about 55, and the space could certainly hold a lot more. There's an elevator for those who need it as well. The food and drink: The food was great, we had a simple taco bar with various appetizers. Everything was the right temperature and very tasty. We were able to work with Troy, the owner, to have one of our favorite beers on tap, as well as mimosas and other drinks of choice available. They had a bartender behind the bar for any other needs that came up. The staff: Troy was extremely easy to communicate with and provided expert opinions when we needed them. The rest of the staff was super courteous and made sure that everything was running smoothly, clearing plates during our event and making sure we had everything we needed. They even let us stay a little bit past our end time to pack out our presents and clean up. Thanks for making our baby shower so special! Highly recommend!

An acquaintance recommended this place for two reasons: they have wonderful brussels sprouts stir fry, and they bring a tray of different kinds of pickles for every table. I not only second this recommendation, but also will add that they have a nice, relaxed atmosphere, good drink selection, and some great options for a vegan burger and sides. I recommend their Vegan Impossible Burger as-is, but if, like me, you like a little heat, customize it by adding fresh jalapenos and OMG sauce. 2024 updates: With their new menu they've added a new salad with goldenberries, though I can't remember its name, and it hasn't quite made it to their website. We were the first to try it, and it was excellent. I got mine without cheese to make it vegan, and it was great with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing. The service during lunchtime is outstanding. If you go during busy times in the evenings on the weekends, prepare for potential long waits and slower service, though; they do tend to get very crowded at times.
