A ā€œmanagerā€named Jamie works at this store (Kroger on 1st St. South Shores in Decatur, IL) and is just absolutely the worst at making any type of effort towards customer service. Neither is her manager Adam, I believe his name is. He also was just acting in a shocking manner over the phone towards me when I first decided to report an incident. The world is in a scary place right now. EVERYONE is feeling the effects of that, but I have worked in various departments of retail for over 6 YEARS! I have never seen a person that is supposed to have a title of management and act appropriately actually end up treating me and my family like criminals. My husband has been shopping at this Kroger for over 20 years. This employee decided to get violent and GRAB THINGS from his hands AS HE WAS CHECKING OUT and proceed to slap his hands out of the way while in the process of exiting the store that she was forcing him to leave because while wearing his sweatshirt as a mask WAS PERFECTLY FINE FOR HIM TO WALK THROUGH THE WHOLE STORE , PAST 5 OTHER EMPLOYEES, and START SCANNING THE 4 items he got. This ā€œladyā€ came up and decided he needed to leave, RIGHT THEN. Started to take things from him and told him he needed to leave. He didn’t not understand. Rightfully so, he was going to be leaving the store anyway, why not let him leave the store with what he had already touched and made it through the store with anyway? Exactly. He was harming no one and not at all trying to disobey laws or make an exception of himself. He was GOING TO MAKE DINNER FOR HIS FAMILY! So she proceeds to follow him out as he is discussing the situation with her and how he feels it doesn’t make sense to him and she is just SPEWING OUT NONSENSE that he is never allowed back and she will be calling the police. Called and lied to the police saying he was blocking customers from coming in (he was exiting as she was still yelling at him and he was even ā€œexcuse meā€ ā€œpardon meā€ to every person passing him so that parts funny) and even told the police he was going to try and steal the things she wouldn’t let him have. That is nonsense. It was hot dogs and hamburger meat, that he was already in the process of paying for. How should she be allowed to go to those length. This little power trip she was on makes you guys look disgusting. I even had to go back in to pick up those items that we needed for dinner CONSIDERING MY HUSBAND WASN'T ALLOWED IN. I finished my shopping and got into an empt aisle before I went to check out, I started to adjust my mask and catch a breath and before I even exited the aisle as I was repositioning my mask THERE SHE WAS. Coming to verbally attack me, I say ā€œI’m doing it, it’s on, just relax.ā€œ So she then stops in her tracks and says YOU CAN LEAVE RIGHT NOW YOU KNOW. I told her I was already leaving and walked away from her. This is not right! I don’t even know this lady. And I’m sure she had no idea who exactly my husband is but IS SHE TREATING EVERYONE LIKE THIS? I have been trying to make myself understand why she possibly would have been allowed for act like this or why her manager that we were able to get ahold of decided not to listen to A WORD of what the complaint was and just said he wasn’t allowed back in the store. That’s just ridiculous to me. We spend a lot of money at that store, to also have this happening during an already very scary and difficult time in the world I can’t even go to my neighborhood store without being smarted off to by some employee and having her become physical...

I visited the first drive Kroger location this afternoon and was very disappointed and upset. I've been a Kroger customer for years because they treat you like family. Today was different. I had WIC coupons to use and got all the normal items with them. I placed everything by coupon on the belt to get rang up. The employees switched out to ring me up on the WIC. When it got to a cetrain item unknown to me that was no longer an offered brand the cashier made a scene over it. I explained to cashier that it was the usual brand that I was able to purchase with my coupons and inquired as to when it had changed. She looked me and said she didn't know when it change but it did. She was loud about the whole process and explained I couldn't have that brand but also couldn't tell me which brand was allowed. At this point I'm really embarrassed by her reaction and tell her if she won't inform me on the correct brand I will just go back to isle and look again for the right one. Keep in mind she never offered to help but seemed content on embarrassing me for using my coupons. After returning to the isle there are no brands marked WIC so I am stumped as to which brand to get. I return to the front and inform her that none of the product tags are marked WIC like they are supposed to be. She pushes my items aside and continues to ring up other customers. I'm ashamed to say I started to cry. I've never felt so mistreated in all my life. I literally had to stand up front and wait to be rang up as everyone is staring at me. All this because I happened to grab the wrong brand. Why is it okay to shame a Mom for doing what she needs to do to take care of her kids? Finally, Bre the cashier collected my things and rang me up on a different checkout. She was pleasant and wanted to help. I just have to ask why was all this necessary? Why couldn't I have been treated like a person...

Your manager Kristi should be fired. We go there at 7 pm on a Friday night and all gallon milk is empty in the coolers and it’s clearly visible in the back. I look for a store associate to go grab some for me and the first one I find apparently works at the service desk. I ask her if she can run to the back and get some for me, to which she replies ā€œI have a customerā€. I tell her I am a customer, but she walks off. I ask her to call a manager then. So we go back to wait at the milk coolers and about 10 minutes later the manager Kristi walks back with another employee and says ā€œYeah, there’s some guy back here for milk that was yelling at the customer service deskā€. First off Kristi, I never yelled at anyone until you made your rude remarks. Your customer service skills are nonexistent Kristi, and whoever the girl was at the service desk lacks them as well.

P.S. I don’t know if I spelled your name right when I called corporate either, but they’ll figure it out. Thanks to them for the $30 store credit. We’ll be sure to use it at the other...
