My kids and I had to attend an appointment in town that ended at 5:30 pm, so we decided to order take out from Guadalajara. Upon arrival to pick up our order, I also purchased drinks for the kids. The order came to around $50.00. We ordered the shrimp, chicken and beef fajita's, tamales and tacos, plus guacamole and extra chips. When I received our order, the bag seemed light, but the waitress told me that everything was there when I questioned it. We drove home 30 minutes away. My daughter told me that we had not received our entire order when she opened the bag at our dining room table. We had received the chips in a bag, a round aluminum container of chips, and two round aluminum containers that contained sour cream, rice, lettuce and re-fried beans. The rest of the order had not been sent home with us. I called Guadalajara and spoke to a young women and told her what had occurred. She told me that she would put the manager on the phone. After a few minutes, she told me that the manager said that when we came in to eat again, that they would replace the meal and give us a discount. I told her that was our dinner for the evening, and agreed to drive back in to town to pick up our missing items. The kids and I proceeded to drive back in to town, when I received a phone call. I noticed that the same number had called a few minutes earlier and not left a message. I called the number and a male answered. The call was from the Guadalajara restaurant. The male on the other end of the phone asked me if my issue was resolved and I told him that it had been; that we were coming back to pick up our missing food items. The male asked me to tell him again what we were missing from our order and I told him. He responded by telling me, "No man, come on! You received your order! There are no bags setting around here"! He was loud and insulting over the phone. In essence, he was calling me a liar. I asked him if he was calling me a liar, and he re-iterated that I had received my food. I told him that I was going to stop payment at my bank and hung up on him. I was so angry at being called a liar by this guy that I decided to still drive in to the restaurant. Upon arrival to Guadalajara, I asked to speak to the male who had called me a liar over the phone. He never came to speak to me, or at least acknowledge that they had made a mistake. They did remake our order but I never did receive an apology. By the time we received our full order and arrived back home, it was 7:00 pm. The food was very average. It wasn't necessarily bad, just not good tasting. We have eaten there many times before and the food has always been very good. I never did receive an apology from the manager for being called a liar by either him or another male. The young women who waited on me for the order the first time and who assisted me when I came back to the restaurant apologized repeatedly. She stood up for me to the manager by acknowledging what I had ordered originally, telling the manager that I was correct when I stated that I had only received one bag of food. I told her that she didn't need to apologize to me; that the person who called me a liar needed to apologize. That never occurred. We will never go back there to eat. Just a side note: Perhaps before calling a paying customer a liar, they should check their camera footage to verify the validity of the complaint, since I noted that they have a camera in the corner up by the ceiling at the cash register. This was a really horrible experience for my children and me. Apparently they do not need the business. They certainly will not...
Read moreThis would be 1 star but the owner called and apologized for staff behavior. Keeping it as short as possible. We went in with about 9 family members. 2 girls at the front desk just stood there for 5 minutes not acknowledging us at all. One girl was browsing through another woman's phone looking at pictures. I announced we had a party of 15. The girl browsing through the phone says someone will be with you shortly. Prior to that, there had been no greeting. When someone seemed to come to try and resolve the issue, it was a 16 or 17 year old young man that made excuses about the girl being stressed about a 45 person party coming. He says we can go to the other Mexican Food joint, and that the owner also owns Mi Pueblito, and it was okay. I said I would not be going there either. He says okay have a nice day. All of the discussion was very sarcastic. I called Mi Pueblito because I figured a manager there might care, and guess what, they did. She was apologetic and said she would call the owner. Because of her I will give the establishments another chance. The owner called with 10 minutes and seemed very upset with his employees. He offered to make it right but we had already arrived at El Rodeo, which had our seats waiting.
I want to add that I had a prior experience around Christmas 2 years ago that was similar, and hadn't been back. Only went back for family, and they were blown away by the rudeness. I had been going there since I was a kid prior to these experiences.
I started off in customer and food service, and truly feel people need lessons in hospitality. If I would have spoken to customers or ignored customers as these 2 would have done, I feel as if I would have been fired. Also, I assume that I am at my job to do it, and my advice to the young employees that were rather rude, you should know that people pay attention, and your face and or resume may come across the desk of a person you have been rude to, or acted unprofessional doesn't look so good. You are building your brand, do you want it to be unprofessional and rude?
I will give it one more chance and call the owner as he asked me to if I have further issues. If it gets squared away, I will...
Read moreThe manager david is VERY VERY RUDE! I order a faijita quesdilla (Ill post the picture below of how it came) When I noticed there was nothing but meat on it I called and spoke with the "manager" david he informed me he doesnt make the menu and oh well next time ask! Which i did ask on the phone when placing my order what comes on it but lets continue into this circus! I open my other order which was a nacho carbon and it was so cold the cheese was stuck to the bottom of the pan and no where near the chips so after we argued about how he doesnt make the menu he finally said he would replace my order! When I arrived me and my fiance went in my fiance asked him why would he think it would be okay to serve food like this and he told my fiance multiple times to go outside and find out why he does wat he wants (in terms he wanted to fight my fiance over HIS OR HIS COOKS OWN MISTAKE! ) My new food still had nothing on the faijita and the nacho had even less than before! I couldnt believe how a manger who has worked multiple businesses ( texas roadhouse mi pub etc) could treat customers who just wanted the 40$ worth of food we paid for to...
