Ladybug Landscapes and Decorah Floral — Local services in Decorah

It troubles me that I have to write this review. Our parents have worked with Ladybug Landscapes for years, and they were the people we turned to for our dad’s funeral.

Two years ago, we needed our mom’s retaining wall replaced. We called Ladybug and several other companies in the area to get quotes. Shopping around is a standard practice. Our family decided go with another company since the quote from Ladybug was nearly double the other quotes we received. We called to inform Ladybug of our decision (which we did not have to do but we respected them), and that is unfortunately when our trouble began.

Our mom has been on Ladybug’s reoccurring list to get mulch for years. We called in early Spring to ensure she was still on their list, and so they would not run out of mulch as they claimed had happened the previous year.

Unfortunately even after several check-in calls, Ladybug was still unable to give us a delivery window for the mulch. It is not too much to expect to know when delivery would be. At the beginning of June, we decided to have another sister call to check on the status of delivery at the request of our mom, and the following week it finally arrived. Why would action suddenly be taken immediately after a different family member called?

While we are satisfied with the work Al did, we are deeply disappointed with the customer service we received over the phone. Their rudeness and unwillingness to work with us as we tried to carry out our mother’s requests was uncalled for. We grew up in Decorah, and there is nothing more special than the small town feel.
