Ordered 24 PC chicken 4 days ahead of pick up and was told by deli clerk I couldn't pay ahead. I explained this was going to be a surprise birthday party and that the birthday person was going to be with me. Paying ahead would give me a little more leeway in getting that amount of chicken to the car without notice. Didn't matter. Day of celebration I'm sneaking around the store, dodging said birthday guy from aisle to aisle. I had him get items that I really didn't need to get him out of the way so I could race through the checkout and get out to the car before he noticed what I was doing. I was charged $24.99 for each container of 8 PC chicken instead of the $24.99 I was supposed to be charged in total. When I pointed out I was not going to pay $80 for chicken to the checkout person, I got a roll of the eyes and was told, " you are going to have to customer service" YAYYYYY... One surprise party blown to the moon and back because I was foolish enough to 1) not monitor the clerk ringing the items up 2) not pay in cash. Will travel to Freeport and visit...
Read moreI am a regular Publix shopper and have been for years. I have lived in areas where Publix was my closest grocery store and Publix usually doesn’t disappoint. However I have ended up at this Winn-Dixie two weeks in a row because the Publix in Freeport has been out of regular items I need on a weekly basis. And I must admit, I have been pleasantly surprised by several things here. 1) Variety of items they stock. 2) Quality of produce. 3) Plentiful BOGOs. 4) Items being in stock. 5) Prices. These are all things I have had regular problems with down at Publix in Freeport. However this store has been an absolute pleasant surprise to get all my shopping done at. I have been able to purchase all items on my list (and some not on my list) and paid much less than I would of at Publix. It’s a little out of my way to drive up here (from Freeport) but with the money I save and ease of shopping I might have to start making this my regular grocery store. Thank you for offering such a nice store and being...
Read moreThis location is going down hill very very quickly. I don't shop here very often anymore. The fresh fruits and veggies are about rotten. Bag salad mixes are brown, rud employees. The one good thing I can say is Bonnie in the bakery is the person that saved this place from the loss of sales. She made sure I had exactly what I needed and it was done rapidly. The bakery is the only place I will purchase anything until some changes have been made with the products and the rudest employees and managers I have ever seen. Only 3 employees are wonderful and a joy to see when I go in. 2 are handicapped 1 bags. 1 stocks and the last is Mr Carl. He has been there as long as I can remember and knows me by name and always stops to say hi. You need more...
