We went for the demo derby during the fair. The north side orlf the track has bleachers which might be better to watch. The south side is folding chairs on relatively flat ground, so it becomes increasingly difficult to see from about 8 to 10 rows back. The worst part is, it seems to be a smaller area, certainly seems smaller than the one at Marion County Fair. Maybe they are a standard size but Delaware's seems much smaller. The bigger issue that stops it from being a better derby is the large number of cars they put in each heat. I believe they had something like twenty-five cars in one heat. You always have a few cars that die almost immediately, and with so many cars in the heat, it becomes generally quite boring. The jug itself is very nice. Clean, we'll set up, but it's about the horse racing. Unlike many county fairs, in Delaware, the demo derby seems like a throw away thing they do, simply because everyone else does it.
