Love coming to the fair every year. We bet on the harness racing, but we don't go on jug day. And there's no racing after jug day. This year for the first time we went on the day after jug day, which is Friday. And it was our worst experience ever! Everything was gone! There were no animals there whatsoever in any Barn, and that's what the Delaware County Fair is mainly about...animals. A lot of the food trucks were closed as well already. There was just some of the rides open, and the Coliseum had a small military display in it. I'm assuming this was put up because Friday was military day. We did at least get in for free on Friday being veterans. I don't know why they don't just close the fair down at the end of Thursday night when the Jug is over. Having it for two more days with everything gone, is absolutely pointless. We were going to go on Saturday for the demolition derby, and I'm glad we didn't go. As I heard from others it was even worse on Saturday. Future years we're going to go back to go earlier in the week and expect it to be a great Fair once again. But please be warned do not go to the Friday or Saturday after the jug, you will likely be extremely disappointed. This would have been a two-star rating, based on just this visit and that's only the generosity of veterans getting in for free on Friday. But I know I've had five star experiences previous years by going earlier...

Read moreDon’t go to the fair if you have a handicap child in a wheelchair, they won’t let them ride unless they can stand to be measured. My son is 11 and was tall enough to ride IN his wheelchair but wasn’t allowed to ride unless he could stand to be measured. Tell me how that works? The fair will play it off as the “operators discretion”, but really, they condone discrimination by association and hiring these “fly by night” carnival companies to come in and do as they please. The Delaware County Fair is a joke…unless you like dealing with this and unruly middle schoolers running around with no...
