The Delaware Diner — Restaurant in Delaware Township

Picturesque classic diner, great food, supremely attentive staff. Visited to try it out right after the re-opening, and we've kept coming back every week. I keep getting the scrambled eggs and perfectly done bacon combo and the ciabatta french toast, but everyone seems real satisfied with the fluffy omelettes (served with house made salsa), crispy home fries, and perfectly fried & savory country fried steak with gravy! Best coffee I've had around town, too. All our servers, namely Annabelle and Abby, have been super friendly and always make you feel welcome and looked after. Love hearing everybody behind the line, too! As someone who works in food service, it's always a relief to hear a happy team.

Unknowing to me, this was their opening day. After I learn that fact, I didn't expect anything great but was very pleasantly surprised.

I got the chicken and waffles and while not looking particularly extraordinary( nothing bad just didn't stand out from the crowd) the waffles were cooked to the perfect level and ended up being one of the better belgian style waffles in the central ohio area. The chicken was the perfect compliment and the strawberries on top were suprisingly a very good addition that rounded out the dish. I would definitely order again.

Can't speak to the quality of food as we never received it. After seeing four tables who were seated after us get served, eat, pay, and leave and two other tables seated and served before my husband was even offered a coffee refill we left. We were told "the kitchen is backed up" but given what we had ordered (two of the orders were my kids pancakes) was no where to be seen plated or on the griddle it was clear our order hadn't been started yet and we had been there almost an hour. We only waited that long because we had just gotten to Ohio at 1 am that morning after moving from four states away.
