I have mixed thoughts with this small icecream shop. First of all, their icecream is great, huge fan of chocolate, but offer different kinds, many different toppings, many (ok actually A LOT), of different icecream treats, plus all different kinds of food, A LOT of different kinds of food items, maybe next time I go I'll take a few pics. Prices seem good. Seating is usually fine, picnic benches, all outside. Now because of the virus, there's only one picnic bench sitting out, but requesting not to use to sit on. There are a lot of families that go there, plenty of young ones, and icecream lovers of every age, a few people will use the bench to get situated, or just for a minute or two, but never see anyone sitting there. Please remember this is because of the "Covid-19" virus!! Once EVERYTHING goes back to normal, this place is usually, and constantly busy, and I "Assume" all benches will be able to use. Ok, now for a little bit of negative feedback, please realize I'm talking about "one" item, but want to share. So my parents luv their footlong hotdogs, and eat them a lot. But a few weeks ago I got one, it was "to me" a major let down. It was cold, I had requested for not a lot of my toppings, hate wearing on my shirt, and trying to drive. Once I got home I took a butter knife to wipe the extra toppings off. Then I realized the diameter of the actual hot dog, I would have to say was close to the size of a dime,! Yes a Dime. Haven't bought one since then, for myself. Please realize, I'm not familiar with there other food items, and they usually have a bit of a line, and they do move pretty fast!!! I would like to add, the staff has ALWAYS been great, polite, courtesy, proper precautions, can ask questions to without the funny looks. This place is truly a great place to visit, but if you get a hotdog, or footlong hotdog request coney sauce, it seems to be a popular choice. Overall if your ever in Delaware, Ohio, or visiting Mingo pool, after things get back to normal, (regarding the pool!). I think you'll definitely find something to eat as a meal, or light snack, and then of course a great treat afterwards, or just for the icecream. I will try to get some pics next time I go. Thanks...
Read moreFirst visit, and n ot sure if we hit a bad night or if it’s always a bit of a cf. They were out of cheese curds and cheese sticks, no rootbeer. The footlong coney dog was bare on both ends by quite a bit. That hotdog was as skinny as the flat-sided, no-roll crayons from kindergarten. And the taste was a bit off as well. It didn’t kill me. So I guess it passed. The coney sauce was quite good however. And of course I added onions and cheese. I requested my butterscotch shake to be thin. I like to drink my milkshakes it was too thick to sip thru the straw. The onion rings were good - as were the fried mushrooms. The fried bologna was ok. Not a stellar review, I know. Sorry dairy Depot - I had higher hopes than...
Read moreI love Dairy Depot ! I just can't say enough about it ! Eating there takes me back to the days when I was a child. The shakes are thick and creamy, the hamburgers are scrumptious and the footlong Coneys are just like the one's I got as as a kid ! I also like the fact that Dairy Depot is a community business, active in giving back to the community and participating in community based programs. If you want a taste of the past, love good food and friendly service, I suggest you take a trip to the Dairy Depot and sit at one of the tables outside and enjoy a wonderful eating experience ! And as a side note, if you happen to order a banana split, plan to be there awhile,...
