I genuinely like this store. It’s close to my house and I bought all my fence supplies here with no issues. Also the customer service representative was really helpful and went above and beyond when it came to helping me pick out the right fence.
However I purchased a lawn mower today at the Cherry hill store. Mostly because I was in the area and I went in to by air filers, but was browsing since I’ve been searching to get a lawn mower, but the timing was never right.
After a little bit I finally decided to get one and brought it home. I set it up and started using it. The handle that controlled the wheels was falling off and the mower kept shutting off after 30 mins. Seeing as this was a $400 mower, I didn’t want to have any issues further down the line and this was the first day of use. I went to the Delran store (because like I stated earlier it is closer). I spoke with an associate and asked if it would be eligible to do an exchange. She told me it was fine as long as I took the gas out of it. No problem. I bought a pump went home took the gas out loaded it up in my car and brought it back. The same associate was not there so I explained the situation to the other lady. She explained she could do the exchange but I needed to get the new one and bring it to the desk. I went and got the new mower and on my way back there was a gentleman who took the mower outside and started it. The mower started up and he was making comments on his way back saying “it works”. Yes it works, but it doesn’t stay on that’s the issue. Upon doing the exchange the lady with purple hair kept saying “it’s filthy it’s filthy” . The whole experience was uncomfortable. I felt like I was being judged and they didn’t care what they said or the faces they made while I was standing there right in front of them. I too work in retail returns and I understand how frustrating it can be, but I also don’t have all the money in the world and I really just wanted a machine that I spent my money on to work properly and be safe rather than sorry. I hope your associates can learn to have a little grace...
Read moreI visited this particular Home Depot today. I’d had surgery and I opened a commercial account from the comfort of my home. I was told by an operator on the phone to visit the store to receive a temp card.to start my purchases on the card. Once I had enough strength to do so, that’s just what I did. I entered the store. I waited my turn at the desk. A young man name Ahmir i think, he it was, he has fluffy hair on the top of his head asked, “could he help me.” Like normal I explained what I was there for. Ahmir proceeded to inform me that he could not give me a temporary card and he was almost sure of it, in his own words. I explained to him that customer service team on the telephone gave me a reference number to take in with me to receive a temp card so that I can start the purchase of the things I needed. He once again let me know he could not do it. I asked for a manager. The manager was fortunately able to give me the temp card I got out of my bed for. He again said that he couldn’t do it and then responded to him and I said to him, no you can not, but because you did not know how to, you should have called someone who could instead of shooing me away. So therefore, you should have gotten a manager to assist you. Once the manager provided me with the temp card I was there for. I showed the young man Ahmir the paper, in a nice way. This way he would know exactly what a customer was speaking of, instead of doubling down on not being able to help a sick customer. He laughed in my face and ignored me. The nerve of some of these young people. This guy needs customer service training and he also needs to do away with the arrogance he displayed. I was totally unhappy with the service I received today by way of this young man. Never going there again as long as he is working the customer...
Read moreI placed an order for 4 items to prepare for the upcoming snowstorm. Unfortunately, I had to go to two different stores due to the availability of the item I was looking for. Sometime had elapsed since I had gone to the first store as I did make ample other stops before arriving at the Delran Home Depot. I checked my order and it still shows as pending on my phone. I went to the customer service desk and asked if my order had been sourced yet. To my surprise, the order still was not ready for pickup. The young lady then began to point randomly to what I believed was the location of the ice melt that I was waiting to be sourced. I asked her for a more detailed explanation despite the random finger pointing to the right of the customer service desk. I asked her if that was where the salt was located. To which she said yes and to my surprise, she just disappeared and went on with her business. Immediately after speaking with her 10+ other home Depot associates all begin conversating and standing around having mundane conversations at the Customer Service desk. I simply just wanted to get to the store pull up into the curbside spot and drive off with my items. Instead, I had to get a shopping cart for my items which was outside. Then I had to load up my shopping cart. Come back to the customer service desk to be able to claim my receipt. While waiting for my receipt the associates were still having a whole conversation while I had to source my entire order from start to finish. I am extremely disappointed in the customer service that I received today on order WJ49971527 overall was...
