Mattress By Appointment — Local services in Derry Township

Unbelievable treatment! I had went to look at mattresses last week as my current Tempurpedic mattress has experienced some quality concerns. After selecting a mattress and agreeing to financing terms on a mattress, I had left as I wasn't able to haul the mattress home that day. I was told by his daughter Shelby, that the mattress can not be returned if the plastic is opened. In the mean time, Tempurpedic came through and decided to replace my entire mattress, foundation and even reset the warranty. I decided it was best that I just stick with Tempurpedic as I couldn't find any product information from the products sold at Mattress by Appointment. I even called the manufacturer who had zero information as well! I contacted Scott and informed him that I'd like to cancel the order as I haven't even picked it up yet. He proceeded to tell me that all sales are final. I informed him that his daughter Shelby had told me the mattress was non-returnable after it had been opened. I did not open the mattress nor do I even have possession of the mattress. The finance company (Snap Finance) told me I couldn't be charged by them legally unless I had physical possession of the merchandiser, which I do not. Scott still insisted that I MUST pick up the mattress! I informed him that I will be reporting him to the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade commission and the Attorney General as I never signed anything that said I was locked into a sale. Scott proceed to ask me if I was on drugs! I couldn't believe my ears! Clearly this man is one of those who doesn't care about his customers after the sale and is all bent out of shape due to a lost order. I purchased a mattress for an anniversary gift to my parents from Scott over 3 years ago when he was first starting out. I recommend anyone to steer clear of Mattress by Appointment in Yeagertown and State College, PA as the franchisee Scott Daly is unbelievably rude! I have no connections to anyone in the mattress industry and truly came to Mattress by Appointment in good faith that is now tarnished. I will be filling complaints with the proper agencies and spreading the word to avoid this business...

Everyone was very nice. BUT BE WARNED! It hasn't been a year and the bed is broken in, or should I say... the foam has broken down and there is indents that you cant get out of when your trying to sleep. Sub-par bed. I could have gotten a Brandname mattress, with a warrenty for less than I paid for this. Let's get into the Financing, You will fill out your forms for WestCreek Financial... you are NOT getting a loan to purchase a new bed, you are signing a contract that says they can take $100+ out of your account ever 2 weeks and its RENT TO OWN, BUT YOU CANT RETURN THE BED!! You can pay it off in a few month OR as I missunderstood... you can now pay for the bed 2 times. I paid 1400 for a king size. I was never given a physical copy of the contract or a way to contact Westcreek financial. I NOW will pay 2500 when it is paid off in December. JUST REMEMBER, IT IS A RENT TO OWN, YOU CAN NOT RETURN. westcreek told me, If I chose to keep the bed... Matteess by appointment, made me sign a contract that ALL SALES ARE FINAL! THIS IS A SCAM!!!! they pull you threw loopholes and contracts so you are stuck paying them. YES, they are a legit buisness, with shady, but legal buisness practices....

Not sure what to think? The mattress I was sold is nowhere to be found on the internet other than here. How do I know I got a fair price? You can't tell me that this company is so big that (manufacturer) only makes them for his company. All the tags attached show non-existent websites and addresses for the alleged companies that "made" this. I have an email in to Serta, maybe I'll get some honest answers.

Update: 10/21/17 After posting this and on his Facebook page in which my post got deleted I can only conclude that they have no interest in their customers other than to take their money. Most reputable companies would work to save their reputation by contacting and responding to replies. NOT this guy!! He knew I was from out of state and probably thought he would never see this sucker again. Well surprise, I have numerous trips back to State College over the next 6 weeks and I will stop by. My friends there will make the appointment as I'm sure I myself would be avoided. Smile, you're on...
