This is by far one of the worst grocery stores I've ever visited. Strike one was when I went to buy chicken and found a fly in between the plastic wrap that the store adds and the sealed factory packaging. Strike 2 was about 2 weeks ago when I went to purchase milk for my job and the dairy guy screamed at me from across one of the open coolers in the back for buying all of the 2%...I bought 12 gallons of milk, you're a grocery store. If you don't have more than 12 gallons of milk on hand, you've got bigger issues, buddy. Most of the milk on the shelf was set to expire the day I was buying it anyway. There's clearly issues with this place, from its dated look, to the staff who are not presentable/in professional attire. The staff mostly look like they rolled out of bed and showed up to work. I addressed the issue with the dairy department guy to Price Chopper's Corporate and got an apology at least. Sad part for them, apologies don't fix stupid staff. The guy still works there, which means my business and the business from my store will be taken elsewhere, like to the East Village Hy-Vee, where they appreciate every sale, and treat people with respect and dignity. Price Chopper: get your act together, or get out of town. Your prices aren't even low, and your aged store needs a...
Read moreMay 3rd, approx. 5:00 P.M., My wife and I went to the Price Chopper Store located at 35th and Ingersoll Ave. in Des Moines Iowa. Upon entry to the store, there was an emergency tornado siren sounding. After selecting several of the items that we needed, there was an announcement asking all customers to bring their items to the front of the store to check out. After standing in line for 5 minutes or more, a member of management yelled out, "for the safety of our employees, we will no longer be checking people out, and we ask that you leave the store". So, all customers had to leave the store while tornado sirens were blaring. In a nutshell, the member of the management team didn't seem to care about the safety of the customers, and sent ALL of the customers outside in a thunderstorm, which could have been life threatening. Your store is just down the street from us, and has been very convenient. However with the latest turn of events, I will NO LONGER be shopping at Price Chopper. I'll drive the extra miles to shop at Hy-Vee or Walmart. I will also advise everyone I know, NOT to shop at Price Chopper. Sincerely, your former customers, Tim & Fran Zenor. PS: Have a nice day out in...
Read moreThe store itself was clean well set up things were labeled pretty well but the customer service was the worst I've encountered in a long while I interacted with the lady behind the customer service desk, the lady behind checkstand 8 and the lady at the front signing ppl up for a reward card not one of those ppl were friendly they were very short and snippy and honestly rude I was treated like I had just interrupted them in church or something I left that store with my purchases knowing I wouldn't be taking my business back to that location again if only one employee had been rude I would have shrugged it off that happens everywhere but for every person i talked to that worked there to be so rude was just unacceptable I don't reccomend shopping at this particular location unless you enjoy snooty snide stuckup employees who look at you and speak to...
