RAYGUN — Local services in Des Moines

We LOVED Raygun. My new in-laws recommended this as a fun place to get some merchandise that pokes a little fun/has a sense of humor about Iowa, Des Moines, and other Midwestern "fly-over" States (as Raygun lovingly calls them). I got some GREAT souvenirs and there were a ton of other cool things I wanted to take home. Their t-shirts seem to be their main attraction. They had some more tame sayings (I bought one that said "Iowa Until I Die-Owa") to funny ones about rivalries between Midwestern states, to one's that poke fun of classic Midwest things (like marshmallows in salad). They have a bunch of magnets, journals, stickers, keychains, etc at other price points as well. I usually have a hard time finding souvenirs but it was pretty quick for me to find something for everyone (and myself). This was SUCH a fun place and they even had a pretty decent little coffee shop attached for some refreshment. I liked it so much I might look for gifts on their online site in the future. If you like to grab trinkets or shirts on your travles, don't leave Des Moines...

I wish I could give this place ZERO stars but unfortunately it wouldn't give me the option. Let me just begin with this place is owned and ran by a bunch of bias liberals. I asked a simple question "do you guys make Republican based shirts?" I have never shopped there before so I was legitimately curious to see if they made any shirts I'd like to purchase. I immediately got smart ass remarks from raygun and their follwers. I wondered if i was the only one who had been treated poorly by them so i read into other people's comments many of which raygun was calling people ignorant or much worse for their beliefs. Sad in today's world you can't even ask a question without being treated like garbage over your beliefs. Funny liberals always claim to be such warm hearted citizens that welcome strangers with open arms yet i have never ever experienced this feeling when I've came into contact with one. Shame on you raygun I truly hope you lose ALL...

Edit/Update: Raygun proves to be even more amazing! If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would! Just a week after leaving my last 5-star review (which proves they’re not in it for the ratings), I am already wearing my new replacement shirt, initiated and provided for free by Raygun! This one is by their new supplier, and, I gotta say, it feels even more durable!

5 stars, but I’m sad! I love Raygun! I love nearly everything about this company, from their snark to their sincerity! I love the storefront, I love the newsletter, and I love their products…BUT (sadly) the shirt I got from them to support my son’s school only lasted a couple of months until a seam separated in my underarm (what?!), and I shed a few tears. Please continue to be an awesome company! Hopefully this was just a fluke, and, if not, hopefully your new supplier makes better quality shirts! My $2 GILDAN has outlasted this one sevenfold!
