Zombie Burger + Drink Lab in downtown Des Moines IA. This is a theme restaurant based around a zombie apocalypse. The restaurant is amazing from the food, the drinks, atmosphere and staffed! This is a must place to visit in downtown Des Moines.
When you get to the restaurant. All you see is zombie themed. It is amazing atmosphere as soon you walk right into the door. We waited to get to seated by the wonderful staffed members. I am a big zombie fan and this was just perfect from the start as you enter. The crowd was not busy because it was on a Wednesday but I bet the restaurant gets busy during the weekend.
On the menu, you have so many different options from zombie movie references like T-Virus burger, 28 days later burger and so much more. I ordered the Envy burger. (photos of burger) This burger was literally and I mean literally the best burger I have ever tasted and the fries was good on the side. This burger so juicy and delicious that it was like eating something heavenly. I literally felt like I was a zombie from eating this burger nonstop. I highly recommend this burger but please and make sure to try all other foods. My friend that I was with said his burger was amazing as well which was the T-Virus burger. Zombie Burger and restaurant had the best food that I have ate in a very long time! Please make sure to visit! This is my number one priority and stop when I visit Des Moines again the future.
The staff were amazing. They were so friendly and nice and they always had a smile on their face when you look at them. They always stayed busy and were working really hard. Unfortunately, I forgot our waitress name but she was fantastic. I promise you won’t have a bad experience with any of the staff here.
The restaurant was clean and very themed. Zombies everywhere you look. The bathroom was well organized and decorated. The toilets were cleaned and working properly. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of Zombie Burger + Drink Lab. We also felt really safe and welcome during our stay. They do have street parking for all guest.
Unfortunately, we did not get any drinks during our visit at the restaurant but they had some good looking zombie theme drinks for adults. Make sure to check the bar out as well.
We highly recommend Zombie Burger + Drink Lab. This restaurant is definitely a destination to visit in Des Moines IA. You don’t want to miss it out this amazing delicious food that they offer and very welcoming atmosphere for anyone. It’s a great place for all family and friends!...
Read moreIt was a fun place to visit. They have lots of options for vegetarians and even a few for vegans. The burgers were well cooked, and the fries were as close to perfection as you could ask for with as busy as they were. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They have a wait list on the internet use it. Find out how far away you are and how long the wait is going to be. Check in at the front door. Ask if you are not sure where to go. There is a ramen place that "sort of shares a space." Once you figure it out, it looks simple. They also give you the choice/chance to save some money. You can use the app to pay, it saves you the credit card fees, or you can pay as you normally do, and they just add the fees the credit card companies charge the restaurant. My son had the "Cremator" it comes with a lot of hot sauce, including something with ghost peppers. He is not affected by capsaicin, and he likes the flavors in those hot peppers when they are prepared well. He thought they had done a good job and that it was a very good burger. My wife was very happy about all the different options as a vegetarian. Beyond burger, portobello mushroom, and a vegan nut patty. You could use any of them on any of their burgers. The only thing I bumped down was the service, only because it was so busy. The servers all seemed to be working hard. I can't really blame them. The food was out super fast. We took our time talking. No one rushed us, and we were out of there in an hour and a half. If you are a big kid like me I have to recommend the big kids' meal. Burger, fries, and a drink about $15 + tax. I think it was the best deal. Or if you can't get dinner, stop in for one of their milkshakes. They had a lot, and they looked good. I will keep mine without needing an ID, but if you want, they all can be made an adult beverage. I didn't have room or time today and I'm leaving in the morning. Going to tell those I know passing through Des Moines to...
Read moreI definitely don't reccomend. Poor customer service. Our server took over 5 minutes just to get our drink orders. Since we had him at the table, we just ordered our food at the same time. He should be retrained. No only was his attitude poor, he left a bad taste in my mouth for Zombie burger, as it was my first time eating there. Our food came to the table, and he walked right past us. Never asked if we needed any condiments, or if it was to our liking. Nothing. He walked past our table 3 times. 3 chances to refill my daughter's drink without having to be asked. He never did. So the 4th time he passed us, I politely asked for her drink to be refilled, and was met with his poor attitude, complete with a heavy sigh.
The food was almost as bad as server's customer service. I ordered the "they're coming to get you Barbara" with a side of sweet potato fries. First, I had to ask another server for ranch, becausey server was nowhere to be found. Anyway, holy salt! The bacon on my burger was old and like chewing on a piece of rubber. The taste was horrid. The burger was supposed to come with caramelized onions. Their caramelized onions are trash. It was a pile of super soggy, way overcooked mushy onions, that tasted tangy, not caramelized. I immediately spit the first bite that had the onions out. The actual burger patty was so salty, I couldn't even finish it. I only got a single patty, too. The sweet potato fries were so salty, I could only manage to choke a couple down. Wasted money, and horrible customer service. I won't be back, and I'll encourage my friends and family to support a more customer...
