I was delighted, proud, and excited to visit our local grocery store for the first time after reading the articles and hearing the stories all summer. I finally stopped in to Linwood Fresh Market for some shopping. It was an amazing experience, and I couldn't be any prouder of Sonya for the passion and love she put into her grocery store, thus our community ā¤ļø
I bought a little bit of everything....dish soap, coconut water, chips, fruit, soursop juice AND the most delicious soups (Creamy Cali and White Chicken Chili). The soups are absolutely delicious, and the soursop tasted like heaven on my tongue. I didn't realize it was available here locally.
I loved the esthetics and cleanliness of the grocery store, I loved how inviting she was upon entry and how she took the time to greet and have a brief conversation with each patron. I love her love for our marvelous Detroit and that she saw a need and met it! I'm a customer for life and pray expansion of this cozy Detroit Bodega across our...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām so excited!!! This was my first visit to the NEIGHBORHOOD market. I went in to check out and patronize a vibrant neighborhood black-owned business. I bought fresh ginger, flour and a fruit smoothie. LFM sells FRESH produce, non-perishable items, packaged snacks, dairy, and a wide variety of beverages. The layout of the store makes sense for a quick trip to the store; items arenāt crowded. The market also has a hand-packed ice cream and fresh fruit smoothie station. Sonya, the owner (Registered Nurse), made my smoothie with fruit (no added sweetener) and it was amazing. Thank you Sonya for allowing me to customize my smoothie. I will definitely return for produce and smoothies for sure. At some point Iāll treat myself to ice cream. Sonya, thank you for working so hard to provide the people with healthy options and fresh produce in the neighborhood....

On a street full of broken down abandoned buildings, this beacon of light changed the aesthetics of that historical street. Now so many other businesses are following suit. So for this, the welcoming customer services, and better options, I recommend LFM, and salute them for their sacrifices for the community. Have you a smoothie, some soup, some of the fresh produce, or some delicious fruits, or buy something and take a selfie like the crowds of people everyday. LFM set the standards for what the future of our neighborhoods will begin to look like....
