My wife and I went here for a dinner date, and our server had been the most horrible server I had ever meet. I originally came here bragging to my wife about how wonderful this place was. By the time I had left my server had been disrespectful twice. A major one he tried to check me about how he was going to serve my wife first, as I was asking him about the price of steak. Not only was my server disrespectful toward me, but he had been cursing loudly and laughing loud with a few other servers. This server came to our table three times and we had been there over an hour. One time I had to ask another server for a refill, for him to notice us and break the conversation, and get the refill for us. The food was decent; however, the tables and space was small. The chair room under the table was so small, that both chairs were touching the side of my legs. My server constantly reached over my food. I felt as if I was under pressure to eat. Last, when I received my check, I waited over 10 minutes for the server to come back so I could pay. Once I handed the server my debit card I waited another 10 plus for him to use the card. When he finally used my card, I watched him pull my debit card out of his pocket as if my card was his. This place has really changed they have hired immature guys to work here, I can not believe my favorite steak house has fallen. I paid over 40 dollars for...
Read moreLenten Friday had me in search of Fish and Chips and I wanted to impress an out of town guest with something to brag about. With so many new choices in the D, I narrowed it down to my favorites Scotty's and Capers.
Capers is a classic, that is well known for some of the better steaks in the region. We were seated near the salad bar and could see the wait staff in action. The restaurant was quite busy with a line of patrons waiting to get in. When seated, a gentleman nearby was enjoying prime rib that already had me planning on returning.
Having had fish there for lunch a while back, we opted for the Friday Special (1lb. of cod, fries and coleslaw (remarkable price)), coconut shrimp, broccoli and potato with sour cream and broccoli. The beverage we chose were gigantic mugs of Fosters. When the food arrived the fish was amazing, the breeding wasn't overwhelming and the portions were cut to manageable pieces. The shrimp were extra large and the marmalade that accompanied them was perfect. The remaining items were just as well and my guest, was very pleased with food and the the large portions.
While I know Scotty's has amazing fish and I've always had a wonderful experience; I will say that for fish, Capers will give them or anyone else a run for the best. Many thanks for the great experience and I'm looking forward to coming...
Read moreMy favorite waitress is Phyllis ( she was my waitress the very 1st time I came)she knows me better than I know myself. My LAST visit was my birthday 1/15/24 we were sat rather quickly (that should have been my 1st warning) Phyllis doesn't work on that day (that should have been my 2nd warning) then it took a VERY confused waitress forever to greet, bring water and menus (3rd warning) I'm guilty it was my birthday the day was already janky but I knew that steak was gonna make it RIGHT!!! The LIES I tell myself for the sake of NOT being HANGRY to remain cool but when that waitress finally came back to take our order BABY it took EVERYTHING in my SUPERWOMAN powers to NOT loose it when she told me I couldn't get any steak larger than a 22 ounce...what in the entire HELL...Capers is known for "steak by the ounce"...that's a LIE‼ DJ (the manager) last time I was there we talked and you offered something. I NEVER GOT IT on my next visit because you weren't there. Then when I came in after that visit you still wasn't there Phyllis tried to handle it...Phyllis THANK U for the years of service....but I give up on these restaurants with the subpar quality, stank attitude and service ‼ I'll get off my LAZY🍑 to mistreat my OWN SELF and find something else to do with my hard earned 💲.....Capers it was good...
