I visited this location the morning of 6/18/20 with the intention of returning bottles and cans, as a result of the governor's directive allowing such an exchange, per corona virus protocol. This store, unfortunately, was not allowing consumers to return their containers for exchange. The information on their website indicated the return of bottles and cans would be occurring during the hours of opening until 10 p.m. . However, this location was not participating in the exchange program per current directives from the governor's office. I and many other consumers were in a quandary for 45 minutes to an hour trying to figure out why the return process was not being carried out at this location. I inquired of the manager, if indeed the return of cans/bottles was occurring at this site. The manage assured me the exchange was occurring. I asked the manager why was the return/exchange station not open ? This manager stated the exchange station was full and would probably be back open at 1p.m., 6/18/20. I informed the manager that there had been a steady stream of consumers that had brought, unloaded and lined up to exchange their cans/bottles, only to have to return their empties to their vehicles, unload them and leave in disgust. I asked the manger why could he not have placed a sign on the entrance to the deposit exchange station informing consumers that the exchange station would not open until 1p.m. ? The store manager's response was " I already told you the station won't be open until 1p.m. ! , in a belligerent and agitated manner. I again asked the manager, why could he not be considerate of the consumers and post a sign to inform them of the needed adjustments to the exchange program ? The manger, again, repeated his flippant response to my inquiry and walked away from me. I do not appreciate such unprofessional and callous disregard to legitimate requests for assistance from consumers !! I would think that a response to my complaint would be forthcoming from the store manager in question or his supervisory designate. If not i will be pursuing my complaint to the appropriate consumer service agencies and the state consumer affairs office in...
Read moreBottle room employees refused my bottles that I had bought at Meijer. First employee flat out refused without even looking and was very rude about it. Second employee looked at bottle said it wasn’t Michigan 10 cents, then i pointed to where it was and they still didnt take it. Then a police officer came in in support of bottle room employees causing intimidation.
I went in store, purchased items but also double checked to see that bottles were sold there. I saw them and took pictures.
I left called Meijer customer sevice. They redirected me to the wrong store and it took two different employees to figure out it was wrong store. I asked how I should get ahold of correct store. They laughed about it. I hung up.
I then called customer service again. They were able to redirect store but had trouble finding someone to talk to me. The customer service rep had to try 3 different people before they could find someone to talk to me.
The person I did talk to was very resistant at first. Giving me a bit of a run around with questioning. Once i was finally able to prove that I did buy bottles at Meijer after much debate (the phone call lasted about 20 minutes) the person was nice and helpful but since bottle room was closed they couldn't do any thing that night.
It shouldnt be this difficult to return bottles that are a state law.
The sad thing is that every one I talked and encountered was getting paid to make this situation more difficult when I was losing my time and didnt even get my...
Read moreEverytime I go the produce ain't producing. I go early so it's not that busy. I love my fruits and veggies honestly it is a hit or miss, more miss, with the produce section. The place overall seems clean. My only other complaint is if it is your first time for a quick run hopefully you find an employee that is helpful to direct you because it's a big store with no proper indicator what aisles have what. Update 08/03/2024: IDK what happened but I see produce is produced maybe over producing but I am extremely happy of the efforts being made. For me it's quality vs quantity and I prefer quality all day. Especially with inflation there is a thing called food waste which is hard to swallow with knowing how many pockets are not deep enough to afford grocery like back in the day. The aisles have more labels making it somewhat easier to find what you need. I pray it stays consistent within reason and I hope the are giving food to the needy when certain foods are about to expire because we need to help each other the best way we can and I am sure meijer can afford it. Bravo to the workers that are trying to make it a better spot my hat tips off to you because the work ain't easy and I am grateful for their efforts. KEEP IT UP BUT...
