Do your research when choosing a nursing program. Program changes stuff every single semester but teaching methods stay the same. Say “you might need to buy other resources and not just use the book for the hesi exit exams” yet professors are allowed to change the questions on hesi exit exams so you buying a hesi exam resource book is a waste of money anyway. See the FB group posts for this school nursing program! Audio record or get in writing (via email) ANY schedule or grade changes because some deans and some professors will tell you a certain exam will be taking off the grade percentage and replaced with another exam. Only to then change their minds at the last minute because there’s not enough available spots left in the next semester course. Remember: get any and every changes in written form or record your professors or dean’s because some will lie, change their minds, and claim it was a “misunderstanding” or that you and every other student in class heard wrong. If you have an issue with a professor, file a compliant (they have an actual compliant form). They NEED paper trails in order to do something. Don’t let these professors tell you “you can file a complaint but it won’t do nothing”. File your complaint on the form (it might not help you right then and there but after enough complaints the directors will HAVE to look into things). The Deans won’t do anything for you, well most of them. Again, read the posts of the wcccd nursing FB group. It will give you a small glimpse of how they do students. This program used yo be good but now it’s not. Most of the good reviews on FB are...
Read moreYes, WCCCD is affordable, but not the Northwest campus financial aid office, and the admissions office are horrible and unprofessional. If a student is being sent to a student working in the financial aid office to answer a financial aid related issue something is wrong. A student can't help another student resolve a financial aid issue. I didn't need help filling out financial aid documents, and the financial aid office women knew that. They send students to other students because they don't want to address the students' financial aid issues. I graduated last year June 2017. Most of my classes were taken at the Northwest campus with the exception of one class that I took at the downtown campus. When I tried to submit my application to graduate a woman from admissions told me that I couldn't graduate. I also overheard that same woman who just got off the phone with a student speaking to another woman working in the office in a joking manner saying that this phone isn't the student hotline. I thought students were suppose to call, and ask whatever questions they wanted. I met with an advisor that same day who told me I could graduate that week. I recently had the financial aid issue handled at another campus, but not the one I mostly attended. If my financial aid issue could have been resolved then, at the Northwest campus the outcome wouldn't have been what it is now. I am left with the responsibility of whatever the outcome will be. All because some women couldn't just do their jobs, look into the financial aid issue and...
Read moreThe nursing students use Test Bank questions from the required books that are assigned to pass the nursing exams. I found this information out after I failed out of this program. Which is terrible, because I actually tired to learn how to answer the critical thinking questions while others just memorized the test bank. That is one of the reasons why they have a hard time passing the NCLEX exam when the time comes. The professors and deans use the exact test bank questions in regular courses and in remediation courses. So, if you want to pass your nursing course just buy the test bank questions/answers online. Google them and you will found them on multiple sites. Most professors don't know how to teach how to answer the critical thinking questions, so students go to the test bank in order to pass the classes. Every single cohort use the test bank to pass. The staff is so lazy that they just copy and paste the test bank questions for exams. It's no wonder students don't learn enough to pass the Nclex. Why learn when you get the answers for free from another student or from online. If the professors just take the time to switch up the questions by a few words, a few answers, or just get the questions from a different book edition, or nursing book in general then it would make the students actually try to learn and practice how to answer those critical...
