The Shop Experience — Restaurant in Detroit

This will be long, so I’ll start with: YOU WILL EAT WELL, FEEL LOVED, AND MEET FRIENDS YOU NEVER KNEW EXISTED!!!! Okay, that said, when I walked in, there were people there who had a beautiful camaraderie in place. Instead of feeling like an intruder, I was welcomed into The Shop Experience like a long lost friend coming in from the cold (yes it WAS frosty outside). I knew ONE person going in and by the time they left, we were play cousins (IYKYK). I had a latte with English Toffee flavor with a buttery almond pastry. Both delicious. I actually STARTED with the coffee and pastry while perusing the tuna and chicken salad croissants. Both of those sell out quickly. I can only imagine how hard it will be deciding on which one of ALL of the brunchy and lunchy (yes, I’m sticking with those descriptors) items I’d order in the future. I guess I’ll have to keep going. By the time I left, hours later, NEVER feeling rushed, I felt like a regular who was a part of the welcome team. I’m about a month behind on my reviews for absolutely no reason besides I need to sit down somewhere and charge up 😐.

Anyway let me tell you about my experience here. I came in on a Saturday afternoon, the space was warm and inviting so I went back to my car to grab my notes and a charger. Unbeknownst to me I didn’t have a changer in the but when I left the shop me and my phone were charged up full of love and kindness.

I had a chai tea with oat milk and a wellness shot, both were delicious. My favorite part of the experience was the conversation being had in what I called the “living room” of the shop.

If you stop by Say K-Swiss and tell them Baldie sent you. You won’t get a discount but you might get a good story to go with...

The Shop Experience is such a vibe. Next time you’re in the mood for a good latte, tea or coffee, you have to visit. Since my very first visit, the food, drinks and service have exceeded my expectations. I’ve been on a journey of trying new things at each visit and I can’t pick what I like most. From the hibiscus ginger tea, the blueberry lavender lemonade, the lemon , the cheese danish, it has all been bomb. The owner Ms. Donya has thee best customer service, every time I enter she is welcoming me. On my latest visit, I tried the chicken salad croissants sandwich and it was delicious.
