Went to this restaurant on Sunday. It was a terrible experience and they weāre rude and unprofessional. They gave my girlfriends omelette to another table, never came over to tell us or apologize. We realized only after our server asked the kitchen to make another. I ordered sliders, was never asked which sliders I wanted and was brought corned beef, I wanted the beef sliders. She never refilled coffee and finally when my friends omelette finally came out, she had no silverware. Our server decided it was more important to cash someone out first. So when I asked for the silverware in her hand I was told āI wasnāt the only customer in the dam restaurant ā. They werenāt that busy and weāre not full by any means. The handled the situation terribly and if this girl worked for me, I would have fired her. What great family values, demean your guest. You can only do it so long and after that you lose guest. Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I shared the 1/2 pound corned beef sandwich, which was enough for the two of us. The rye bread could have passed for white bread, and the meat, although lean, was rather bland tasting. Service was on the slow side.
They sell packaged corned beef in the grocery section. I'll report on that later, after St. Patrick's Day.
Update: The packaged corned beef was superb. 4.75 pounds served five people, with lots left over. The flat cut was lean and tender. Unlike some packaged corned beef, Wigleys did not include an envelope of seasonings; instead, the meat was pre-seasoned throughout.
3 stars for the restaurant; 5 stars for the packaged...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe corned beef is excellent, not salty, fatty, or stringy. It paired well with an onion roll, which is a $1 upcharge. I ordered the triple decker corned beaf, which was a full pound of meat. I recommend getting it on an onion roll because any other bread, they add another piece of it in the middle. It also comes with coleslaw and Russian dressing, all of which I got on the side. There's an upcharge for cheese as well. Way more than I could finish, so ulit was well worth the cost, still less than an equivalent corned beef sandwich at Mr. Corn beef. The service was just ok. They took my order and checked on me when I was finished...
