Love this store. About 10 years ago I bought a molcajete (mortar & pestle) and the owner gave me a beautiful explanation about curing it and some history. Very festive displays, some of everything. I began my day as a participant of the Detroit Heart Walk. I was invited to an event scheduled shortly after. I knew it wouldn't be right to show up in my team t-shirt & sneakers. Xochi's came through with exactly what I needed. The perfect touch of orgullo Mexicana I was looking for my impromptu meet & greet with Governor Whitmer. Southwest Detroit is such a jewel and this is one of the countless reasons why we can appreciate the historic architecture, cultural significance and the unique experience of being able to visit a little area reminiscent of travels abroad.
