Community warning on this place. I ordered a package off an online retailer who offered a ship to store delivery option, commonly known as ADL services for UPS, or an alternate delivery location. The retailer offered this convenient store in Dixon, which was convenient. Upon arriving, I waited patiently for Samantha to emerge from the back of the store where she was clearly very busy. A nice gentleman greeted me immediately but advised that I would need to wait for Samantha. When Samantha emerged she rudely told me that this is “not a service that their store provides”. I explained that it was offered by the online real retailer and is Common at UPS store locations and offered to show her my confirmation email. Unfortunately it was apparent that my presence in the store was a real inconvenience to Samantha, who then begin to chastise me for the way the label depicted my information. (Please keep in mind the label was created by the retailer and I had nothing to do with it). After she chastised me thoroughly Miss Samantha told me that it would be five dollars for me to actually take my package! Please keep in mind I had already paid shipping in full to the retailer when I placed my order. I called two UPS store locations in Vaca and Fairfield And both confirmed that this practice is not legit. I also called the UPS corporate site who reiterated that there is no charge for package pick up. Read moreThe staff here is nice enough and I understand that these stores are franchised (which is the only reason that this is not a one star review) but UPS is a complete joke of a company. I came here to ship an item worth $2500 and I asked for insurance. Come to find out later that UPS doesn’t even offer insurance but rather a “stated value program”. Regardless of what the name is it was completely useless when my item arrived to my buyer with giant holes punched through the side of the box. The box also looked like it had been dropped off the back of a truck. The owner of this location filed a claim for me and an appeal and was rejected due to “poor packing”. Now if the box had arrived completely intact and the items inside were destroyed I could see blaming the packing but what sort of packaging is supposed to stand up to having a metal rod shoved through the side of the box? They managed to completely twist the metal frame of a very expensive film scanner. Not even my shipping fees refunded....

She measured it and said rudely said she didnt have a box for it so couldn't ship it. I asked her if she could make a box - I'd seen her making ones before for other people - and she said No, she doesn't do that. I took all my packages to ship and left. Boy do I miss Chad! He knew what customer service is! I took everything to Vacaville UPS store and they handled everything quickly and kindly, and said it was no problem. Spent over $200 shipping packages. At least it went to a business that appreciates their customers. I will NEVER go back to the Dixon store. There are enough shipping options out there to not need to give them my business when they are so rude...
