This ice cream is delicious! I am very picky with ice cream, a lot of places and brands have odd aftertastes. This place is perfect! My family got peach, strawberry, coconut, and lavender. The peach and strawberry tasted like real, ripe fruits, exactly like eating it in summer from your own garden. The coconut was rich and had real coconut flakes. The scoops were generous. Keep in mind: I wanted two scoops in a waffle cone but the sales girl told me she can’t do that, so she put them in a paper cup and put the cone on top. My daughter got one scoop in the waffle cone no problem. Sorry we didn’t take photos because we ate this deliciousness so fast. We’re definitely going to make this our stop in the future. There is a bathroom, it’s typical of tiny little shops, it doesn’t flush well, so we had to hold down the handle for a while, but I’m thankful they at least had one, because the grocery store’s bathroom next door was gross.
A week later we came back, and pretty much got the same flavors as last time we liked it so much. This time they let me have two scoops...
Read moreI have been to many different ice cream creameries, shops, stands, and more. The one thing I typically order when I come to a new place is a scoop of their vanilla. Everyone has different likings but to me, it is an essential flavor that is the foundation for their other flavors. If a location has bad vanilla that's the end, I move on. To that end, the vanilla here is phenomenal, my favorite so far. It's not overly sweet, it is refreshing, crisp, and fresh. The perfect texture of the ice cream added to this positive experience. Since then, I have tried their other flavors and this place has not disappointed me yet. The staff were mostly friendly but sometimes they're appeared stressed and less representative. Though not an excuse to look bothered, but a lot of times it's only one staff member catering to a line out the door. The parking is limited, and the scoops are small. Would recommend to...
Read moreMore like the "good" but expensive scoop. The new ice cream corner serves Tara's Organic (from Berkeley aka weird town) in the nice suburban college town of Davis (aka Cowtown). They have a variety of exotic and unusual ice creams, Popsicles, gelato, sorbet, and waffle cones.
I came on a Saturday night and it was pretty popular, I'd recommend coming around lunch or afternoon so you get maximum flavor options. I really wanted black sesame but even the Popsicle sold out, so instead I got a small with two flavors sunflower seed butter and chamomile. Like Tara's I enjoyed the black sesame cone, but didn't think overall the ice cream was worth it. The flavor is there but it doesn't have the "keep wanting more" quality that some ice cream...
