Southeastern Performance Apparel — Local services in Dothan

Our school has done business with Southeastern for years, and had always been happy until recently. As there is no way to leave a product review on their website I am sharing it here.

Our large middle school choirs have worn the same vests and bowties for 20+ years, and we have ordered tux shirts and show choir uniforms from them for years as well. We have received compliments on our uniforms every year. Recently we were able to replace our show choir uniforms, and due to previous experiences we ordered from Southeastern. We chose Black Athena sequin dresses for the girls and Diamond Black Sequin vests and Bow Ties for the boys. The dresses are nice and we receive compliments on them a lot, although we do have some complaints. They are scratchy for the girls to wear, they have to be very delicately dry cleaned because of the rhinestone belt line, and the skirt fabric catches on the rhinestones a lot, nearly ripping the dresses on occasion. However i just looked and no longer see them on the website, so we cannot purchase any additional sizes if needed, which is a huge problem.

The vests and bow ties are our biggest complaint. They are an utter waste, I cannot believe what they charged for them. I wish I could warn other buyers. The vests are vecro and stick to themselves, causing extra wear and tear. They are not adjustable at all. There are buttons on the vest which are purely for show, and they are falling off already. The bow ties are the worst thing I have ever seen. the bows are not sewn in! The bow part slides out of the center loop constantly! The bow fabric is fraying already after very little wear. Also they are not adjustable at all, meaning every single time we need to pin them. I addressed this with their customer service team and they apologized, said they would notify the production team, and offered a 15% discount on our next order.

Our very large stock of regular (not show choir) choir vests and bow ties, which are over 20 years old, are nearing the age of needing replacement. A discount on such a large order would be great, but after this experience I don't know if we can risk buying...

This has been a dream of our director Alice Wigfield for many years and we are privileged to be a part of making it a success. And you have helped us to do that! You have been kind and so helpful with ideas and solutions and time restraints.

The gowns ( fords/ kaspers) are beautiful. Its wonderful to see the smiles on little girls faces wearing their first formal dress. And the boys in thier tucks with their matching blue ties and pocket squares look so handsome. You can see them growing in confidence within.

We will have this year's Maji performance on Saturday, Nov. 16th. when I get some pictures I will send them to you so you can be as proud of them a we are.

While I was attempting to order my daughter's dress for band online, I became confused regarding the sizes (even after watching the video). So, I decided to call and ask for further assistance. I am so glad that I called. Ms. Gloria was so professional, kind, and patient, as I asked many questions. Ms. Gloria never rushed me throughout our conversation, and she took note of the concerns that I had regarding the suggested size. She assured me that if the dress did not fit properly, we could exchange it for another size. The dress was on backorder, which was explained to me over the phone. Once the dress arrived, it fit my daughter perfectly. We will have to get the hem altered a bit, but the size that Ms. Gloria recommended was correct. She was spot on!
