From the first time I went in as a newbie to comics, Jim was always willing to help with any questions I had, show me where to find what I was looking for, and also be willing to have conversations to discuss the books I was looking for or looking to get into. Add to that Matt, Chris, Sam, and Chris, his great support staff, and I never once had a bad experience at the shop.
Everyone was always friendly and cordial, and I have never felt rushed to get in or out of the store. You can tell everyone there is as passionate about comics as you are, and they treat you and the books as a passion, not just a business or a means to make money.
I just recently moved downtown to Chicago and will now become a patron of you Loop location. I was sad to leave the store the last time, remembering all the fun conversations I had and great books I bought there. I am looking forward to meeting the staff downtown, but I wanted to let you know what a great job your Downers Grove team does, and what an awesome place they have...
Read moreWent to a trip to see my boyfriend in downers grove. We were driving around and as soon as I saw the COMICS, i was like HUM i need to go there !! NEED TO. We went more than once, I was there for only a week haha. They had a bunch of comics and choices. LOVED IT. 2 of the guys were really nice and helpful but one of them was younger and they were closing in about 15-20 minutes he was pushing us to leave and told us We're about to close blabla (even tho we were paying right when he said that) ... The other guy was talking to us about promotions and stuff while this other young guy was pushing her to leave lol anyway. I STILL...
Read moreThis was a fun store to visit. I've been shopping at the various Graham Crackers stores over the years and always had a good time at each location.
The person behind the register was friendly and helpful and able to look up the books I was in search of in their database.
As for the selection, boy, did they have it all. The latest comics, tons of toys, graphic novels/collected editions, and back issues galore.
I confess I was slightly disappointed that the Downers Grove location didn't have a few specific comics I was looking for to complete my shopping list, but that doesn't detract from the overall positive...
