Run away from this HORRIBLE "medical facility" - as fast as you can! I have been here several times, always on an urgent care basis. In the 10 or so times I had gone there over the last ten years, I never had a great experience (due to the fact that every doctor and nurse have strong foreign accents that were difficult to understand), but it was never bad enough to stop going - until two months ago (January 2015).
In January, I was in a bad car accident that landed me in the ER. I was offered pain medication in the ER, which I declined. I followed up with my primary care physician (PCP) a few days after the accident, and we created a treatment plan, which included pain medication. However, two weeks after the accident, and after I had seen my PCP, I found myself in incredible pain, and leaving in 2 days for a 10 day trip. The pain medication my PCP had given me wasn't handling how bad my pain had gotten, and I also had broken out in abscesses on my face from the air bag that exploded in the accident. As you might imagine, I needed treatment immediately.
Since I was leaving in 2 days for my 10-day trip, and couldn't get in to see my PCP before I left, I went to North American Emergency Medical Center for help....which I had done several times before. Not only would the "doctor" I saw give me ANYTHING for my pain, he was MEAN and RUDE and COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE. First, he complained because I hadn't been there in 3 years, and then ACCUSED ME OF BEING AN ADDICT - because every time I had seen their doctors, I had major injuries or pneumonia - in other words, during times when my illnesses required major medication.
Despite the fact that I only asked him for a 10-day supply of pain medication to get me through my trip until I returned and could see my PCP, he YELLED at me and told me I would have to take (and pay for) a $200 urine drug test before he would help me. Then, he told me to go back to the ER. Apparently, this "doctor" doesn't understand what his Urgent Care facility is there to do. He also COMPLETELY DISREGARDED the help I needed for my face.
I was so APPALLED by the way he spoke to me, I finally found the nerve to tell him I didn't appreciate how he was speaking to me...to which he responded that he didn't want or need my business. If there was a way to give this location zero stars, I absolutely would.
The office manager apologized for the behavior of this "doctor", but the damage was done. I will NEVER return...and I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you to boycott this completely unprofessional place. With all the urgent care facilities out there, I promise you will NOT regret avoiding the North American Emergency Medical Center on Ogden Ave in...
Read moreI visited you at 3pm today at your clinic for immigration medicals. I have following complaints:
Doctor didn't even check the immunization chart for my kids and advised what vaccinations are needed for the immigration medicals. why this negligence?
I was asked approximate weight and height during a physical check. why a doctor could not check with machines?
Doctor does even know, what are the vaccinations needed for immigration medicals. If you have USCIS certified doctor with 39 experience in this field, how come she does not know basic things?
A receptionist wrongly billed an incorrect amount for immigration medical package and even she was forcing me to accept that amount without showing a billed copy. Why she billed wrongly an extra amount?
I identified an issue in kids immigration medicals and guided a doctor. why we have to suggest what is missing and what is important?
The overall experience is worst, horrible, frustrating and my first this kind of experience in the USA. I feel that my hard earned 1300 USD money, had...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE. IT IS FILTHY AND YOU WILL END UP PAYING FOR IT. I went in for pink eye after having the flu. The receptionist took my ID and credit card. Told me to have a seat. Nurse brought me into the examination room. Nurse gave me my ID back but not my credit card. She then informs me that there is no nurse practitioner today, only the “doctor”(more money for them). When I asked about my credit card she says I’ll get it after the doctor sees me. Doctor comes in. He checks my eyes and mouth with old looking medical equipment. He then proceeds to tell me my pink eye will go away on its own. So there is nothing he can prescribe. I go back to the receptionist to “check out” and get my card. She tells me to have a seat because she is waiting for my chart. I wait. Finally the nurse brings my chart to the receptionist. Receptionist tells me it’s $120. At this point I just want to get my credit card back and get out. So I pay and leave. I do NOT recommend this facility. It is dirty, outdated, and they will...
