The service was awful the waiter tried his best but as soon as you walk in 70% of the tables were dirty with no people sitting in them. They didn't even bother to clean it up unless you told him to and the restaurant wasn't even full people had to wait or walk around to see if they can find a clean table. As for my burger that I ordered with fries it was okay but my friend steak taco salad was not she ended up throwing up in their parking lot. I also ordered a milkshake before I left I don't know if it was a booger or some kind of dirt that was on the Cherry left on it in the milkshake but it wasn't the best milkshake that usually have at Steak n Shake in Downers Grove Illinois. I even left a $5 tip because I felt bad that the waiter was doing it all on his own but then there was another waiter at the restaurant after being there more than an hour or more since we had to wait for a table the other waiter comes out playing on his phone. I was extremely pissed off because as a business owner I don't let my customers sit around for like 10 minutes staring at the waiter hoping they would take their order or get a clean table as you can see in the pictures that I posted on here. Read moreI ordered for delivery through their website, (I don’t understand if they don’t do deliveries why they even have a delivery option on their website to begin with.) anyways, I received my order but I didn’t receive my cheeseburger. I was very dissappointed, I called the store number and told them what the problem was and they said they could not reimburse me that it had to be from who delivered it which they say would’ve been Uber or doordash but I didn’t not order from Uber eats or doordash, I ordered from their website and the guy that I was talking to on the phone did not want to help, I asked for a reimbursement but they said they couldn’t do it, they could only do it if it was ordered from that specific location (which I did. I went to the downers grove website.) they said I had to contact Uber or doordash even though I didn’t even make an order through either of those apps. Read moreMy grandmother and I came from out of state due to an appointment I had. We didn't think they were open at first, but since it was just shortly after 10 I think that is why it just seemed that way. When we entered we were greeted by one of the workers, and he let us know that we could see him instead of using the tablets for ordering which was nice. My grandma ordered the original sandwich (I think here it's called the steak burger?) and she wanted ketchup onion and pickle on it and it was rang up that way and ended up coming out plain. The shakes and food though were pretty good none the less. The floors however when we walked in, were VERY sticky. I don't know if someone is using the same mop that they are using for the back or if the cleaner just isn't strong enough but they were VERY VERY sticky. Meals were kind of pricier than what we remembered, but also both of us hadn't been to a steak and shake in a while (considering all the one's near us closed).
