Spartan Camera — Local services in Duluth

Spartan Cameras are awesome and customer service is top notch. I had a camera that was constantly taking photos. Since it was under warranty, they sent me a brand new one. I love how the warranty is done through the app. You don’t have to keep a receipt. I have a friend that has tactacam. It just stopped working out of nowhere and it was under warranty. It could not get fixed or replaced for free without a receipt. Spartan takes great photos and videos. You can choose video + photos. If you want the video or hd pictures, you can choose to do that after the regular pic has been taken. I have mine on solar and they have been in the field all year long without any problems. I can do anything with the app. Firmware updates, formatting the card, and change settings. So, in reality you never have to go to the camera. If you want gps, you need the golive or the go live 2. With the golives you can watch video in real time, and you can record them. They also have a small built in battery, but don’t just rely on it to run the camera 24/7. You’ll still need solar or batteries. The main difference in the golive and golive 2, is the 2 has a wider field of view. Since you can golive, I recommend using solar because it uses a lot of power and you would go through tons of batteries. I use solar anyway so I don’t have to ever mess with batteries. The gocam is good too, if you want to spend a little less. You can do all of the features as the golives, except it doesn’t have gps and you can’t watch in real time. My go to is the golive, because I want the gps in case of theft. If the gocam had gps, it would be my go to. Only because I’m not always on the phone when the deer show up, to watch in real time (golive). The plans go by how much data you use, not by the number of pictures.

Reconyx cell, you can’t download videos from the app, you have to pull the card. With the basic plan you don’t get very many pictures. If I remember correctly, its like 250.

Tactacam, customer service is horrible. Cameras stop working for no reason and you need to keep up with the receipt for warranty. Also, the plans are more expensive. You don’t get to download videos from the app without paying more. Commands from app are not instant unless you pay more. Gps is not reliable. Thats just a few negatives.

Cuddelink, plans are pretty good, but no video. No hd photos. You need to pull card for better pics. For firmware updates, you have to put updates on a card and go to each camera.

Thats just a few of the cameras I have had experience with. So, if you’re on the fence about what cameras to go with, I would highly recommend Spartan! Again, they are the all around best cameras on the market! The plans are great, the features are great, and the pictures/videos...

I’m not one to leave negative reviews. I always reach out directly to the company first and give them an opportunity to make things right. Unfortunately, Spartan will not respond to my emails. I sent my camera in for repair and was told when they put a new antenna on, it worked fine. The photo they took at their office even showed up on my app so I am aware that they did get it working, however, when I received the camera back from Spartan it did not work again. I have another Spartan camera that works just fine, but this one is lemon. This is the 3rd antenna and 2nd SIM card on this camera. I’ve sent multiple emails to them this week but no luck receiving a reply. This is my last ditch effort to get this resolved. Could someone please get...

Cameras are nothing but junk. I've had nothing but issues with these Chinese made cameras since I got them . Spartan makes you pay for returning the defective product, Not only are there data plans the most expensive in the industry, but there cameras leak water, have cheap parts. I suppose they will ban you on the Facebook community page if you speak about to many problems. Well instead of giving us a place to ventilate our issues now I will ventilate them everywhere else. Great job spartan on silencing a customer. 500 dollar 4 month old cameras that won't even power up, countless app issues. The list goes on and on. Anyone reading this I strongly suggest do your research on spartan before you buy...
