This "business" is one of those mattress discounters that work out of a garage or storage unit. The ads promise deep discounts off manufacturers' price, but in reality the goods that are the reasonably priced "bait" are not even RV quality. Soon enough the "switch" comes into play when you express interest in a *real mattress. That's when you realize that the discount prices are nothing but a lure. On June 24th, 2017 my daughter and I had an appointment to view mattresses that Mr. Butson had advertised at a beginning price point of $150. However, upon arrival the mattresses available for purchase were many times that advertised price. Since my daughter and her children were moving to a new apartment on August 1st and needed new bedding, we settled on 2 mattress sets with a total cost of $1600, taxes included. Since the bedding wasn't needed for several weeks, I paid a $600 deposit on the 2 mattress sets and was sent an electronic receipt. On July 5th, I realized I would not be able to complete the purchase due to an unforeseen loss of income. On July 7th, I called Mr. Butson to cancel the order and was instructed to contact him the next day to discuss how to arrannge the logistics to gain a refund of my deposit as he was not, at that time, at his place of business. The following morning, when I called at the instructed time, my phone call went unanswered, and my voicemail was message was not returned. I sent an email with my receipt attached, offering to send my bankcard information to precipitate my refund. Mr. Butson responded to my email 27 hours later, stating he had a no refund policy. He further indicated he would keep my dedposit towards a future purchase. This policy was neither verbalized during the transaction nor indicated on my receipt. Furthermore, I have no indication when I would be able to move forward with this purchase and have subsequently bought air mattresses until such a time as my financial situation changes. Even though I thoroughly explained my dilemma to Mr. Butson in a follow up email, (which also pointed out that there is no indication of his refund policy on the receipt he provided me) he declined to further respond and still refuses to issue the refund. I consider this to be fruadulent, unfair, and outright theft. Product_Or_Service: Queen mattress and boxspring, King mattress On July 19 I turned the matter over to the BBB. Mr Butson gave less than a caring response, going so far as to issue the same response, verbatim, twice. Mr. Butson appears to consider my complaint as undeserving of his actual attention: note that both his responses are exactly the same. This makes one wonder how many others he has bilked of funds using the same verbiage that actually in no way excuses his behavior nor is it an indicator of doing business in good faith. I have reiterated, as well as provided a copy of my receipt, that at NO time was I made aware of a no-refund policy. This receipt is the only evidence of commerce between Mr. Butson and myself, and therefore should be ample proof that I am entitled to a refund. I am determined to see this matter through every avenue, whether arbitration or legal, to recover the funds that are now being intentionally, willfully, and fraudulently withheld from me. I cannot recommend this "business ". Please be aware of bait and switch practices and those doing business WITHOUT a license. #BBB...
Read moreUpdate: Randy went above and beyond to rectify my issue by ordering a motor, having it delivered and sending a repair man out promptly to fix my recliner.
I am grateful for the kindness and service shown after having such doubts.
Randy and Team definitely pulled through, treated me with respect and compassion, and provided top-notch service.
I encourage you to see for yourself, make your own conclusions, and when you decide to purchase from Box Drop - They will ensure you have a quality piece of furniture that works as expected, delivered with a smile (and even fixed if necessary)! :-)
You will not be disappointed!
On the day of my purchase I would've given a 5 star review.
There was an issue with the motor on one of the reclining seats in my loveseat, discovered on that same day while at the storage garage. I was assured it would be fixed asap, a mechanic scheduled to come out right away. I left confident and happy with my purchase.
My loveseat was delivered as scheduled, mechanic came to assess the issue as promised. A new motor was going to be ordered and installed. All good.
Since then, I have called several times for updates on getting the motor in, each time with assurance it would be taken care of.
This last time I called, I lost hope that it will be fixed, being given less and less confident responses on repair timing.
For what I paid for this loveseat, I could have purchased from a reputable furniture store and potentially had the motor fixed by now or a new one delivered, and received better continuing customer service.
I should not have to follow up with a repair. I expect for the price I paid to have regular communication and updates every 7-10 days. I don't think this is unreasonable.
At this point, I do not recommend buying from BoxDrop. Randy is very approachable and friendly. Initial service and purchase is top notch.
But be warned - do not expect any follow up or repairs if needed, even when the issue is discussed prior to purchase.
If my issue is resolved, I may update this review.
As of right now, I say steer clear and go to a reputable furniture store rather than being sucked in by kindness and still paying top dollar. RESPONSE: I was never once told the part would be shipped directly to ME. I have never heard of a business having the part shipped to the customer's home.
I was told you would call and schedule the repair once the part arrived at your store. This is why I continue to call to check the status of the delivery.
In your response to my review, you continually repeat that I was told it would be delivered to me. Neither me nor my aunt (present at time of sale) heard Randy ever state the motor would be delivered directly to me.
It's sad that you feel the need to shift the focus and blame...
Read moreI went to box drop to purchase some furniture that was posted on a social media marketplace. This location is in some type of warehouse and had various mix match pieces. When I found a piece that I liked, Randy said he could order the sofa that went to the loveseat. I told him I really didn't want to go with it until I knew for sure it was coming in. He specifically told me his wife does the ordering and that the couch would be in mid-February. And the reason it was currently not in was due to covid-19. I NEVER agreed to wait beyond mid February. I tried reaching out through the company phone number and did not receive a response which pushed me to reach out through social media. When I finally reached out to Randy, the owner of the company, he told me that the furniture was not in and that I could not get my deposit back. But I could come in and pick something else out if I wanted. I specifically told him I wanted that piece of furniture that I paid for. I found that he was reselling the furniture that I put a deposit on through social media. I confronted him with this and he has recently blocked me from any type of communication. I do not feel that this company nor the owner are a very trustworthy company. And I definitely do not recommend anyone purchasing from this place, this company, or the owner or any of...
