If we could give Sandshaker 6 stars we would!

This spot was a short walk from our Airbnb - so we went two nights in a row! By looking at the menu prices I was certain the food would be subpar. Affordable food near the beach that also tastes good? Doesn’t exist.

We were not only gladly mistaken, but completely blown away— so tasty —and we’re from Memphis, so we know how to eat right! Our family of six shared from all of our plates. The portions were ENORMOUS, y’all. Every bite of it was fabulous.

(We ordered chicken alfredo, shrimp poboy, chicken quesadilla, Philly cheesesteak, sandshaker burger, and everyone’s favorite: the fried fish sandwich! But honestly we’d order any of it a second time.)

Our second night we just went for drinks and the live music— a down-home, fun time.

Benita took excellent care of us both nights. Our teenagers (who couldn’t care less about tipping) even said “I hope y’all left her a great tip— she was awesome!” As a former worker in the service industry, a teenagers stamp of approval is worth its weight in gold! (Thank you for your kindness, and for remembering us on night two, Benita!!)

We can’t wait to come back to Clearwater and...

The atmosphere is great. It was a Friday night, the performer was Liz she is a very talented singer with a diverse song list. We thoroughly enjoyed her performance and will go back to see her perform again. The food was incredible and our waitress Rosie was very attentive. She remembered our names and never let our glasses be empty! She was very pleasant and seems to enjoy working at Sandshakers. She had some great food suggestions. We each had the clam chowder which was so delicious. My husband got the Sandshaker Burger with the bacon wrapped jalapeno on top. It was a half pound of quality beef. He said it was the best burger he has eaten, ever! I was looking for a low carb option and Rosie suggested the Reuben and coleslaw (kaleslaw). The portions were very generous and we ended up taking half home to enjoy later. My husband loves bread pudding so we finished our meal with that and also took some home to enjoy the next day for breakfast! Rosie also told us the owners are local and pride themself on a varied menu with plenty of healthy options. Quality food, great service, wonderful entertainment, we definitely...

Great find. Interesting place with what seems to be an identity crisis along the Pinellas Trail and on a quiet residential street. Ís this a dive bar or is this a scratch kitchen? Well. It's both! The drinks are made well and the prices are reasonable. The food also a great value and is all homemade. The chili will remind you of the chili mom made growing up. The steak and mashed taste just like you made it at home, assuming you know how to cook. The salad wedge is delightful. And the wings... Get those wings breaded and pick your sauce. I suggest the Thai sauce. While the freshly made food here is all good, these wings are best in Pinellas County and beyond! Oh yeah, Eeyore's tail was wagging in flavorful pleasure. But then, that burger. Oh my. Many great burger places in the area and this burger competes with the best of them. I also heard raves about the meatloaf and the pasta dishes. So this place has no identity crisis. This is a dive bar with amazing food that is made fresh to order and made with love. And maybe if lucky, you'll see Eeyore with tail wagging and ears flapping from his taste...

Don't let the outside or location worry you. The food here is excellent with quite the variety of options. I had the fish and chips with a nice batter and cooked to perfection. The fries are nothing special but hot. Hubby got the fried shrimp and he said they were delicious. Friends got the Sandshaker burger and it was beautiful, yummy and cooked perfectly. They ordered a wedge salad to share and the restaurant even split it for them! Without being asked... Nice. It looked delicious (it was). We also had the salmon fish spread served with chopped red onion, chopped tomato and jalapenos, it was delectable $18. Also the garlic Parmesan wings were yummy. Weird layout and the one inside room has a pool table but not much atmosphere. We sat at the outside bar area and perfect with heater for a cool evening. And the kale slaw, the KALE SLAW is the most fabulous thing ever! We WILL be back and you should go too. Get the word out, this place needs to be known!
