Lazy Jerk Caribbean Eats — Restaurant in Clearwater

After a long beach day, mi belly start talkin’—so we follow the breeze and end up at Lazy Jerk. At first we thought the GPS was drunk 'cause all we hearing is Latin music. Turns out it’s in a food hall with a full-on dance party goin’ on. Mi nearly buss a whine before finding the food!

We slide through the crowd and boom—Caribbean breeze hit us. Warm smile at the counter, reggae in the air, and the smell of real yard food. The lady behind the counter? Pure sunshine. She greet us like family and serve up that good-good like she seasoning it with blessings.

I had the curry goat with rice, cabbage, and plantains—hot, fresh, and full of flavor. My boy had the chicken bowl and gave it the silent “yo this hittin’” nod. You know the one.

First off, I asked for a menu and ordered based on the prices listed. When I went to pay, the total was $12 more than expected. I asked about it, and she told me that was an old menu and the new prices are online — but she didn’t mention that until after I placed my order. I let it slide, even tipped her $5, and figured it was just one of those things. I understand food prices have gone up.

But when I got home, I was shocked to find only two pieces of oxtail for $19.99. On top of that, I was charged $12 extra just for cabbage, which made the pricing feel completely unreasonable for the portion size.

My man got her loaded jerk chicken cheeses fries with queso, juicy chicken, and salsa topped with spicy sour cream. He loved it and I totally stole some, The fries were seasoned perfectly Also we got the jerk chicken bowl that’s what brought me in! Soooo yummy 🤤

No issues with pricing or portions, I’m definitely coming back we can’t wait to try her oxtails but Listen she’s inside the food market so it’s tricky to locate her at first because of the GPS leading you into or near the Nolen apartments but just look for her black, yellow, green Jamaican flag decor blowing with the music on Cleveland street and I parked on the side in a gated parking lot right next to her little cafe.
