We love going to the movies at Carey Theater and knowing proceeds go to supporting this theater and the Soldiers at JBLM. The prices for this theater are extremely cheap and the quality of the movie and sound is very good. The seats and overall building itself could use a renovation, but the environment is still comfortable. Typical theater foods are available for purchase and are subject to 10% off the price when using the Star Card. Once in a while the theater shows free first run movies when Movie Producers provide them for free to the military. Almost all of Dwayne Johnson's movies have a free showing at this theater. The free tickets are provided to military/retired members at the base exchange.

Had a pretty good experience here. It’s your typical post theater. Seats aren’t incredibly comfortable and the screen isn’t as large as you might like. The price is good though. If you want refills go several minutes before movie ends...they turn off the machines before the movie ends.

This is an old theater & could really benefit from some real updating. Movies play & sound fine but you feel as if you stepped back a couple decades. Prices for the movies & food are reasonable. Very limited show options & times. This could be a good $ maker for JBLM w/ upkeep, advertising & better movie titles/times. Esp since they play relatively current movies. $15 for a civilian movie is crazy but people pay it to have comfort seating & more pleasant surroundings. Options possible: •Monthly movie pass fee's •Refillable food &/or drinks •B.O.S.S. program take over running the theater & run like a fundraiser choice. Plus w/ many younger people, they'll know...

Carey Theater is on Fort Lewis my first time there must have been in 1993- 94. Ninety-nine cents for any movie, any showing, any time. Easy in, easy out; you arrived at the front door with your dollar bill and entered into the theater with a penny's worth of change. Wow! You used to be able to do that on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Wednesdays. Nowadays... it's usually $11 for first run movies on their first showing and $6 for all other showings and movies; with kids fees, $9 and $4 respectively. Still a good deal.
