*Edited (12/23) I returned two days later in the morning with my mother, who'd heard good things and wanted to give it a try. A lovely young woman served us and the waffles were amazing. We ordered a Strawberry Compote and a My Love Though, and they lived up to the hype! The waffles were crisp yet unbelievably fluffy, nice portions but not overly dense or too sweet, and wonderful flavor combos to satisfy a more adventurous foodie and simple palate alike. My mother kept bringing up every couple hours how tasty and satisfying it was, that she'd never had a waffle that good. Before ordering she quipped that a fine or gourmet waffle from a food truck was an oxymoron, but she certainly changed her tune after trying it! A very different experience from the first, and we will definitely return!
(12/21) Wanted to love it, thoroughly enjoy any/all breakfast foods and supporting local businesses, but my first time here may be my only. I arrived around 1:30pm and was not greeted or prompted to order by the gentleman working the truck, it's near closing, it's cold, I 100% get it. I ordered their new seasonal sweet waffle, the noisette, delish in theory, subpar in reality. I asked (and paid) for nutella to be added (in addition to the light caramel in the description), and recieved a waffle with neither. The eggnogg whipped cream was very tasty, the candied hazelnuts amazing, but the waffle, while fluffy and full of potential, tasted overwhelmingly like bacon and sausage grease, and not in any sort of redeeming way. So without any sauce to assist, all other flavors were replaced with simply burnt grease. It may have been because it was near closing and I declined to add a tip to my card payment (adding cash to the jar instead, not that it should matter), but after looking forward to it for days from phenom online photos and rave reviews, was underwhelmed by the actual product. Maybe you'll have better luck than I did, everyone else seems to have had a...
Read moreFirst off the food is top notch!
I have had most if not all of there savory waffles and some of there sweet waffles. The waffle is light and a great base for the variety of toppings which they have a variety of. While the sweet waffles are great the savory ones are the ones I always go for.
I started with the breakfast which was great but quickly realized my mistake. The best thing on the menu is the chicken. While chicken and waffles may not seem like a match made in heaven, let me tell you that every savory waffle is made better by there chicken.
I would tell you that there is one single thing that is the best but the owner is constantly creating new waffles with wonderful flavor combinations. I have shown up multiple weeks in a row and found new and incredible flavors to enjoy. Most recently she created a eggy spicy flavor combination from other local companies as well as a Chicken Pot Pie waffle!
If you go expect to wait anywhere from 10 to 30 min depending on how many orders they have get as they are a small family run truck. However, the wait is totally worth it and not really a big deal. Multiple breweries are near by to sample while you wait. My family is really enjoying the selection at Finriver but you do you.
The only complaint is that it is a food truck and not a sit-down establishment so you will have to be outside to order and sometime the weather is not the nicest. They do have a covered area and inside seating and you can order it to go so no big deal. I would argue that the food is well worth a tiny bit of Washington weather.
As my 5 star review says I highly recommend this wonderful business. My family and I truly enjoy the food and the wonderful family. My daughter looks forward to running up to them and ordering her food and they always greet her and everyone else with a smile. Tasty food and wonderful service. What else...
Read moreFirst and last time eating here. The cashier/cook was very unfriendly. The food took about 20 minutes to cook, when it should take no more than 5-10 minutes, TOPS.
The waffles were ok but a bit overdone and entirely overpriced. The servings should be triple the size for the price. I don’t get why people seem to like this place so much? Never again for me.
Update: To address the owner’s response, yes, I reviewed the correct business. I stopped by while I was visiting, expecting good food and service based on reviews. I got neither.
For the money you’re charging, the value just isn’t there. ONE small waffle with a small topping for $10-20 is a ripoff, even by local standards. The ingredients cost you maybe a couple bucks, and it’s a simple food truck operation, not a restaurant. But hey, we live in WA so as usual anything goes, right?
And I stood in the cold for 20-25 minutes waiting for my food. No eggs, no chicken, no time estimate. The girl took my order like it was a burden. There were TWO people ahead of me who also seemed to have been there for a while.
I stand by my review. The food wasn’t worth the money...
