If I could give him a negative number, I would!
Horus says all of the right things. He's cordial, friendly and he may even be a good mechanic for certain things. He just wasn't a good mechanic for me and he also was totally unprofessional!
My cars hood would not open. The latch was stuck on one side. I explained the issue to him in detail and he said that he could unlatch it. We agreed on a price and made the appointment.
Once he arrived, he began to work on opening the hood. When the hood on my particular model car is stuck, there's only one way to open it, according to all of the YouTube videos that I watched. The only way to open it is to go from the bottom by removing the panel, inserting a long rod or screwdriver and pushing the latch button up.
He tried to open by inserting the same balloon that lockout guys use. I knew, at that point that he couldn't do it. He made a comment under his breath and said, "This was suppose to be an easy job!" It is easy, if you know what you're doing!!
I went into the house for a moment and my daughter looked out and noticed the van was gone! Within minutes of me walking into my house! I looked out, and he was nowhere to be seen. I phoned him no less that 20 times and each call went directly to voicemail. He turned his phone off immediately upon leaving my home. I texted him a few times and also never got a response. My last text to him was a full day later, still trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.
He simply left! He didn't say that he couldn't repair my car. He didn't close my car door. He didn't call, text or say anything. He just left! I told him that it was important that I get my hood opened as I had a doctor's appointment an hour and a half away the following morning. If he couldn't do it, he could've simply said that he couldn't. I've never dealt with a mechanic, Mobil mechanic, that was so unprofessional.
I'll never use this guy for any job that I may have in the future. He clearly couldn't do what he was hired to do but instead of being professional and just saying that he couldn't do it, he simply disappeared. I'm more disappointed that not only didn't he do that, but he cracked my grill by leaning on it as he stood up. And to not even close my car door was the ultimate insult.
So Horus, you reap what you sow. Your unprofessional behavior with me will cost you future customers. You didn't even have the common decency or professional courtesy to deal with me as a professional. For future references, if you can't do a job, just say that you can't do it and stop wasting folks time. FYI, I missed my appointment because of your ineptness.
*Update: Horus contacted me almost immediately after I posted the review. As expected, he was unhappy and actually tried to blame me for his inability to repair my car.
I posted the text messages from AFTER I posted the review. Just in case I'm called a liar.
All he did was make this worse for himself. This is the type of person that you're getting to work on your car.
Update #2: As Horus made his heartfelt response, promising growth, he still doesn't get it! Horus, you still didn't take ownership for cracking my grill, saying that it was already broken! I'm sure that's his way of laying blame on me. Did I strike you as a person that would drive around with a cracked grill? Horus, if you recall, YOU were looking under the car. When YOU stood up, you pulled up and pressed down on the grill, breaking one piece. You popped the piece back in place when I mentioned that you broke it, but the damage was done. So, if I pointed that you just broke my grill, help me understand that that one piece was already broken? That one particular piece, you just happened to pull yourself up on the very small piece that was already broken? Seriously? That's what we're doing now, blaming the car owner?
No worries, I'm not trying to get you to pay for a grill, as you were probably thinking. Personally, I wouldn't want you touching any part of my car again. All you had to say was that you apologized for the grill. It was...
Read moreWARNING! For anybody who sees this, he doesn't have an adequate payment system. It's only cash app that he requires for the diagnostic as well as labor. I scheduled a meeting at 10am today. He was adamant that HE WANTS YOU TO PREPAY FOR THE LABOR BEFORE HE EVEN SHOWS UP. He wanted me to cash app him $500. I told him I would pay once the labor was completed and satisfied .He just kept reiterating $500. He never came out for the appt we scheduled this past Monday which confirms my belief he would have just stolen the money. Very much a scammer if you're not careful. He wouldn't agree to have a contract signed. Most, if not all, conversations he wants conducted via text. You can't really have an honest and true conversation with him. BE CAREFUL EVERYONE!.
As you see in response below, it says all you need to know about his level of unprofessionalism and immaturity. A scammer at best. EVERYONE PLEASE REFRAIN FROM THIS GUY. As you see from his responses, tells you everything you need to know. His cognitive ability doesn't allow him to understand that typically labor is completed prior to any payment. Also having a valid payment system and contracts. He was too scared to come out and sign the contract I generated out of fear he didn't want to be held legally responsible. He went AWOL. Other true professional sources would confirm this. Business will surely be reported :-) In terms of any "Terms and Agreement", my wife has text messages where he just kept asking to Cashapp money. No professional paperwork was ever sent. Please don't let this guy fool you. The only reason I went to him was because he was the only option available at the time. Otherwise I would have chose someone different
Just for all the future reviewers. This review is not misleading. The prepaid he is talking about is through a Cashapp which in traditional circumstances, qualified shops and/or mechanics would make sure the labor is done prior to any payment. The concern with this is if you pay him prior to any labor especially through a Cashapp and no contract involved, you are trusting that he will actually do the job. He can opt not to show up and now you are out $500. I got messages of me asking for he to sign a contract. He denied. In addition to this, he told me he would not sign a contract. PLEASE EVERYBODY, with this crook, please make sure you get him to sign a contract. If he chooses not to which he will, please find another place to provide...
Read moreDO NOT TRUST THIS MECHANIC!!! He did come out and change parts i made avaliable. 1.He did replace the parts He did NOT REINSTALL PARTS CORRECTLY, causing my truck not to be drivable. When called & texted about fixing the issues and problems he created; he ignored my calls and refuses to respond. When I asked for a refund so I can go get my truck properly fixed he continued to ignore me but responded to this review! Now I can't make it to work and my truck is more broke now then when I had him come fix it! When asked to do a test drive afterwards, he did not or he would if recognized there was a problem!
DO NOT TRUST THIS MECHANIC! P.s. to your response, the problem you created with my brakes makes it undrivable! That is actually your responsibility bc you performed the work!
Follow up.... Now that this business refused to make it right. My truck had to be towed to a shop where they informed me parts where installed improperly creating more damage to my truck. So now I habe to replace the parts before I can get an alignment! Costs me 2 days out of work and Mohammad refuses to make it right or return my money.
